Hair is $115, makeup $75. I am not having my makeup done there. I can see if they have a MAC artist when I'm there, though.

You can email them. They will sometimes take a day or two to respond, but they will respond and will be very responsive.

Bambi is the person for hair.
Thanks for posting the link Natasha. I was just checking out their website and saw that they do a bachelorette spa-tini party. Looks like something I might check out for my girls!
I'm so glad to hear you are getting things resolved with the resort. I hope the rest of your time before your wedding goes smoothly.
I am so excited for you November brides!

FYI Girls, I emailed the HIVE and this is what I just got back..

Ms. Mooney,

I am not certain at this time if Bambi will be available for you June 5, 07.

She frequently travels to the NY, LA & Chicago to work. I would know for

sure closer to you date....approximately 3 months prior. She does however

have a team of artist in Cabo that can service you. They have all been

trained by her. In addition, her make up artist is MAC trained. If you are

interested in receiving a proposal, please forward the number of guests you

would like serviced and I will forward immediately.

Best,

Eliza

SO my question to those that already booked the HIVE, how far in advance did you book it?

I actually used Hive and was told I was going to get Bambi and then the day of I ended up getting someone else. It is $35 for them to come to you, no matter how far away you are, I was at the Pacifica, so it probably took them about 45 minutes each way!

She did a good job, but for me, it just wasn't worth the money. It was windy and humid, so my hair lost all of the curl within about 5 minutes of being outside. I would have rather saved the $300 it ended up costing me and just had my sister and a friend do my hair and makeup (but obviously this is easier for me to say after the fact)!

Also, I booked mine the week before and paid right before we left for Cabo, so I wouldn't stress out about it too much!

If I had been closer to the salon, I totally would have gone for the party there with all of my girls - that would have been worth it!

In my expirence as wedding coordinator, let me tell you that it´s better if the H&M person can come to you, in this case you will save on the transpotation from your hotel to HIVE and back.

And you never know what can happen, maybe traffic, wind, heat, etc. I recommend you get them to work in your hotel room if it´s possible.

This is a tip from a wedding coordinator.

I would have the H&M people come to you. We went to the salon at the Hilton only because it was downstairs. We did our own make-up and ordered room service together afterward. It was nice to have some fun time just with my bridal party before the whirlwind of activity the rest of the day. BTW, I'm glad I get married at 3PM and had an evening recetion as opposed to my brother's 11AM wedding and afternoon reception. It felt less rushed. I know Dave enjoyed some relaxing pool time earlier that day.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
