OFFICIAL Gran Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Thread

I'm getting married at the Tulum Location in February. Jasmine recently sent over some forms for me to fill out, however she only sent over menus for Gran Tortuga and Tequila Restaurants. Does anyone know why the Don Pablo was not included as well? Does anyone have feedback on the Don Pablo restaurant compared to the Gran Tortuga?

@@jcarey1010 Honestly I much preferred Don Pablo. It's the best restaurant in all 3 resorts I think. I will be requesting that restaurant as well. When I was there there was a small wedding group at the other side of the restaurant but there were only about 10 people in total. I'm not 100%sure if it is always available for wedding dinners. I will try to post some pictures from my phone

@@N50mys the tent was set up all week, between the pool and the Brazilian restaurant and filled with tables and chairs. When we went for dinner we had the option to sit inside or in the tent

Does anybody have an opinion about having a dj versus using the speakers? 210 an hr is a lot if all they do is basically turn on a computer. Also looking for feedback about the hair and makeup. I am very particular and have kinda high expectations. Unfortunately I don't think they allow outside vendors at all

Hi ladies,

Maybe a random question, but does anyone know if people staying in the hotel only for 2 nights can go dinner in 'a la carte" restaurants paying their dinner like in a normal restaurant?.

As i understood, people staying  4-5 nights only have 2 a la carte which one is the wedding dinner, and people staying less nights only have the wedding as a la carte, so  could they just pay for a restaurant if they want?

In my case i have some local people booking only 2 to 5 nights and the hotel has not answered me this.

Thank you so much

So I just read through all 79 pages of this thread again.

I am not dealing with anyone thus far as I haven't heard from a wedding coordinator.

November is coming close for many of you ladies !!! Exciting, can't wait to hear about how amazing your day went. So communication with the resort is awful we are all learning but try to remember it's going to turn out great no matter what, doesn't matter what restaurant we eat at or timing for everything it will all work out and it will be amazing!!!

Couple questions I didn't see on here,

Do you still have to pay the judge fee if you have a symbolic wedding?

Do you get a choice of djs when you book a DJ or does the resort just have the same one they use?

I'm booked! November 11, 2015!

I'm going through the package and now I have more questions!

Included music - If I'm not having a cocktail hour, am I allowed to use the live music in, say, the lobby bar for cocktails before dinner?

Is Akumal beach the same as Akumal Hammocks?

Hello

@@Dreamteam17 I don't think you have to pay the judge in the symbolic ceremony since the judge is only for legal weddings.

And about the DJ, i have read here that some girls knew about one DJ that was still allowed to be hired even though he is external to the hotel. I will go with the DJ they have in the hotel, the cost I think is reasonable (210 usd/hr) but i think is included in 3 hours receptions (pool party) except if the reception is special cocktails.

@@Maggietron how can you be booked for November 2014 when flight prices are only available one year in advance and you can't book your wedding until your trip is booked?

@llima I didn't know that the Dj was included in the pool party.. So if you get one of the other bar packages they include the DJ?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
