OFFICIAL Gran Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Thread

Recommended Posts

I was married at GBP riviera maya on Dec 19,2013.

We did the legal wedding. Our wedding coordinator Maria said it would take 2.5 months (maximum of 3) to receive the apostilled marriage certificate in Canada.

It's been just more than 3 months and I'm wondering how long it took other brides to get theirs?

Thanks

Emilie

We went through a travel agent and once we put our deposit down, Paloma Flores (she does the bookings) emailed him to ask about the wedding date and location. Our wedding was March 2014 but we had the location and time booked in February or March of 2013. After that, you won't hear from the resort until about 3-4 months before your date.

Is it just shops then?

Welcome!  You're our second September 11th bride for 2014!

Many of us have used the resort hairdresser and were quite happy with the results.

I have heard rumor that outside hairdressers are no longer allowed, so ask your coordinator for the most up to date information.

In regards to the resort hairdresser, would they be happy to use clip in extensions or hairpieces if I supplied them? Also, would the makeup ladies be happy applying flash lashes?

Thanks

ElenaBrogden - 11/28/2014 - Akumal beach hammock location :)

And also, just wanted to mention, they don't allow outside hair stylists into the resort anymore. Previously you had to pay for the day pass for them to come in but now they don't allow it all which is quite unfortunate.

I had a question about photography.

We are flying our own photographer down. She's wondering if she needs to provide anything to the airline in terms of paperwork etc. in case they ask her why she has photography equipment with her. (She's been watching a lot of those airport security shows lately, which always show sketchy things happening :)

thanks

She needs to follow all the rules on what amount of equipment she can bring with her. Without a permit, it is limited. She will also have to fill out the visa forms stating she's there for business

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
