@@nicolesal Last time I was there, there was NOT an additional show in the theater on Thursdays.

The activity board photo shown on my blog: http://faberphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Tulum-Activities-Board.jpgshows Thursday as the Fiesta night.

There should still will be live entertainment by the lobby bar areas, however.

Thank you! I think I'm going to ask everyone to meet us at the lobby bar for a welcome drink and then dinner and then possibly see who would like to go to the show. Do you remember the time or hrs? Is dinner served there? Also how much is it to get it?

Ps I asked the group rep and she said you need 6m of fabric for around the alter..... She also said they might be changing it so I'm going to hold off for now.

6 meters is roughly 20 feet.  That structure is bigger than that.  Maybe just for the top part?

The table in front of me appears to be a five foot table, or there abouts.

And the structure is about 8 feet tall.

So I would say you need 16 feet just for the sides of it, and then based on the table size, I'd say 15 feet for the top.  So roughly 30 feet

Thanks Trisha. I'm going to hold off on the fabric in the meantime as they might be replacing the gazebo with another one similar to Tulum.

I have a question about decor and flowers. Did anyone bring extra decor with them. I want everything to look nice, but I don't know if it is worth buying extra stuff. Our dinner is going to be at Arlequin. I was thinking about bringing candles and small things like that. I just want to spend wisely.

Also does anyone have pics of their flowers? And bridesmaid flowers?

Hi everyone!! So happy to find this site! I am in the early stages of planning my December wedding, and I have a few questions:

-We plan on going from the 26 of December 2015 to the 2 nd of January 2016, is the restrictions on when you can get married over the Holidays?

-Do you have to wait two days business for the symbolic ceremony?

Thanks for the feed back!!

Welcome and congratulations!!!

I have not heard any restrictions over the holidays, especially with it being a symbolic ceremony.  Obviously the resort will give the final answer that for, but I wouldn't think it'd be a problem.

I'm not positive about the two business days, but I do believe that allows them to have time to meet with you and get everything perfect for your big day!

Hello,

I am trying to decide between this resort and the Barcelo Maya Beach resort for my wedding May 2016, but having a hard time! Have any of you been to both of these resorts by any chance? Also, did you feel like the beach ceremony was private enough, or are there people surrounding you and in the background of your pictures?

Thanks!

Thanks for the answer! to have a symbolic ceremony do you have to be married in your home country for a certain about of time before?

No. You never have to be married in your home county if you don't want too. It's just a symbolic ceremony that is not legal and there are no requirements of you.

Welcome to the site!!  I have been to both resorts and I have photographed weddings at both resorts.  Both are lovely.

Are you thinking the gazebo or the beach location at the Barcelo?

Personally, I like the look of the Barcelo gazebo better than the Tulum Gazebo, however the Tulum Gazebo is far more private.

Beach location, I like the Gran Bahia better.  I think it's more private and you have more options.

I enjoyed the private restaurant reception of the Barcelo where at the GBP it isn't private, however I like the poolside receptions at the GBP more.

End result... I'd select GBP.  But I got married there so I'm bias :)

Here are some of the weddings I've photographed at both:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
