OFFICIAL Gran Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Thread

Recommended Posts

@  I'm 9 months out, trying to picture things and see what I need to start getting together.

Sorry if you've already mentioned this, this thread is massive lol - I know you mentioned you brought your own fabric for the ceremony decor, did you bring your own centrepieces or any other decor I should start looking out for?

Thanks!

I brought table runners that matched my ceremony fabric.  I also brought along votive candles (only thing I regret about my wedding.  We had the outdoor dinner and dance, so the candles didn't stay lit in the wind.  HUGE waste of money and suitcase weight!).  Besides that I purchased ceremony flowers and centerpieces.

I didn't want to bring too much with me and rather have the beauty of the resort be the centerpiece.  Since I had a poolside reception it's lit really cute and the pool is lit so that adds extra visual appeal.

I just read on a Facebook group that some resorts require a copy of a marriage certificate for a symbolic wedding. I've never heard of this and I'm 3 months out and kinda panicking. Does this resort require anything ?!

I certainly hope not! We're signing ours the day we get back!

Hi again, I received a wedding wish list today from the hotel and noticed it said that it costs $450 dollars to make the pool reception area private? Has any one else has to pay that as well as the drinks per hour? And if so is making the pool reception area private optional or compulsory?

Thanks Ladies

@@Scarlett123 I've never heard of this and I'm 3 months away. Maybe it's something new they've added. I'm not paying it either way! They've never mentioned it to me and it doesn't say anything on my wedding wishes

@@Scarlett123 what do you mean your wedding wish list? And when is your wedding?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
