OFFICIAL Gran Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Thread

Hi ladies! Less than 50 days for us :) I'm wondering if anyone has some cost savings ideas or if they were able to get a discount on anything, with the Canadian exchange rate being so awful, the price of our wedding has gone from $2800 to over $4100 Canadian. Although better than a traditional at home wedding I'd still like to stay under $4000 if I can, and I know there will be extra things added on when I get there too! Any suggestions are appreciated.

Wedding at Tulum

Extra fabric on Structure is $90 (not necessary but looks gorgeous - maybe I could bring something with me instead?)

Poolside reception is $250 + bar for 3 hours works out to be $841 = $1091 total

Speakers for reception $210

Unforgettable package $1665

All in USD.

Hello all. New at this and just about to book Coba for our wedding. The only pricing I have seen is for the basic packages, photos and spa services. Does anyone have a list of any additional charges such as the above that are optional?

It'd be a great help.

Thanks!~

Happy Monday everyone!

Is anyone willing to share their timeline for ceremony/reception? Our ceremony is at 5 p.m. so we're trying to figure out what time dinner should start, how long we will need a DJ, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Hi! Oh how nice to have it at 5pm! Where is your ceremony? So we are 4pm ceremony, 6pm dinner and 8pm-11pm reception :) Do you have your coordinator yet? She will pretty much tell you when your things have to be!

Hi

I'm from uk. We get married May 2016. Only doing weddi g wishes. Having unforgettable package. We are getting married at 3pm. Meal at 6pm not chosen restaurant. Staying in coba side. A couple of questions. Has anybody not had a private cocktail or private party? What did you do in between the cremony and meal? I was thinking about having a private cocktail party but see that there is a charge of $250 then extra per head for drinks. My oh dosnt see the need as we are all inclusive anyway. Also the photos included by on site photographer are they just taken during the ceremony? Are they any group shots? My brother is a good photographer so going to get him to take a lot

  • 2 weeks later...

Ahh I fly out in a month and have not packed yet or went to get USD or Pesos! Help... Any last min tips? What documents do I need to bring? Money saving tips? I'm planning on taking my wedding party on a snorkling catamaran ride (possibly a big enough private boat so guests could come too). Have any of you done this? What's the best company?

Can any past brides comment on the Akumal beach aisle? Is it deep sand or is there a firm path to assist with walking? Although I had planned to go barefoot, my small height isn't cooperating and I now feel as though wedges are my only option.

It's definitely not a firm path.  Deep sand and I find it hard to walk in with just flip flops on.  Sorry :(

Hi ladies, might be a silly question but I'm a bit confused on how to pay... Is it all cash? Or credit? And is there a certain amount daily? Is it not better to bring the whole lump sum in cash?

Thanks!

Thanks @@emigrayson Is there no option to pay cash? The exchange rate and international fees on the credit cards were probably high no?

And welcome back! How did everything go?!?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
