I haven't heard from my coordinator yet. Paulina told me I would be assigned one after the 15th of this month so i will ask her for one next week.

I have talked to Paulina a few times. She seems really nice and can speak very good English which helps. She has confirmed my wedding wishes and such. I still have minor questions but I'm saving those for the coordinator. Are you having a poolside reception? The $450 cost Scarlett is stating above is news to me and I'm going to freak out if they charge me that. I'm asking Paulina to confirm my costs today.

@@nicolesal I haven't heard from anyone at the resort. I sent in my wedding wishes on June 15, they never acknowledged receiving it. I sent it again two weeks ago and asked them to acknowledge receipt, still nothing. My last communication was from Linda saying that Paulina would be my coordinator, but it sounds like Paulina replaced Linda, so I'm assuming I'll get a new one?

It's official.... Our ceremony date is April 15th 2016 at the Tulum beach location. Anyone else around that time?

So my questions today are... Do any brides from Ontario know the most cost effective spot to get ceremony fabric? Also would they lower the bridesmaid flower cost if you asked for a single large flower each vs. a bouquet?

Cheers!

Most resorts will quote you flowers. I'd send the wedding department your idea and request a quote. My resort did anyways. I only wanted a 4 flower bouquet and it came in cheaper than the listed prices.

Ok another question.

Is there a limit on number of people for the semi-private dinner? Ive never heard/read of this in any of my package info but another bride mentioned it on facebook.

I certainly hope not!

The "wedding wishes" document says that single flowers are $5, bridesmaid bouquets are $36, I believe. We're requesting a single gerbera daisy for each, but I haven't heard back about that yet.

I know there's a minimum, but there must be a maximum size just due to size constraints of the dinner location. I don't know what it would be though, I don't remember seeing that either.

Yes. There is a maximum, or there was in the past at least.  This page: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/63282-official-gran-bahia-principe-riviera-maya-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1514321tells you the cost per person over the maximum.

SUNSHINE - Maximum 20 people.  $25 each additional guest

UNFORGETTABLE - Maximum 30 people.  $35 each additional guest

ROMANCE EXTRAVAGANZA - Maximum 30 people.  $40 each additional gues

In 2016 the sunshine is upgraded to a max of 30 people and $20 each additional.

Unforgettable is still 30 guests, but $30 each additional.

Romance remains the same.

I brought table runners that matched my ceremony fabric.  I also brought along votive candles (only thing I regret about my wedding.  We had the outdoor dinner and dance, so the candles didn't stay lit in the wind.  HUGE waste of money and suitcase weight!).  Besides that I purchased ceremony flowers and centerpieces.

I didn't want to bring too much with me and rather have the beauty of the resort be the centerpiece.  Since I had a poolside reception it's lit really cute and the pool is lit so that adds extra visual appeal.

Hi Trisha,

For your outdoor dinner and dance, where did you have the dance?  I heard from another bride that if you have the poolside reception, you have to rent a dance floor somewhere else?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
