There are two big differences.  The first is the signing of the papers.  In the legal, you use ink and leave thumb prints on the document.  For the Symbolic, you don't.  However most people don't know this so most people won't notice a difference.

The second is that the legal ceremony MUST be done in Spanish.  It is translated, but the judge reads it in Spanish first.

Gosh!

I am getting so frustrated. Apparently Linda Roman is no longer with the company. I have been planning our wedding with her for almost a year now (it's 4 months away).

I sent my wedding wishes file to Charlotte, who confirmed receipt of them. Now Paulina has asked me for the same thing. No wonder I am having nightmares about showing up there and them not having any of my wedding booked.

Anyone else dealing with this? Does anyone know when I will actually get a coordinator?

Thanks,

Nicole

:( Nightmares indeed.  It's so frustrating and it's so hard to relax no matter how many times you hear us say it.  So I'm sorry.  I know it's tough.  I hope it gets better!

Hi I'm new to this forum but I've already learned so much from it! I'm starting to plan a symbolic ceremony at GB and need some help! I noticed one of the biggest differences between the most expensive wedding package and the 2nd one is the canopies after the ceremony. How much does it cost to get the canopies added on to the 2nd wedding package? Also how do you get the light up dance floor/cost? I'm trying to not go overboard with the costs as the point of having a wedding away is to keep is simple, clean and fun. I don't want to stress about small details. Your help is appreciated! :)

I would say the biggest difference is actually the open bar and reception after the dinner.  That's where the large cost is coming from.

I would say the cocktails and canapes after the ceremony aren't a big thing.  You can easily go to any bar and have "cocktails" so if that's all you're looking for in that third package, then I'd probably go more that route.

I haven't seen anyone have a light up dance floor since the outside DJs were banned.  Sorry.

Hello!

I got the 2nd package and added on the poolside reception (charged per person depending on bar choice, I believe it was $5 for margaritas/Pina coladas only,  $12 first hour and $8/hr after for domestic liquor, and $18 for the first hour and $14/hr after for international bar.

The DJ costs $210/hr with the lights and sound equipment, or you can rent the sound equipment for an Ipod for $70/hr.

Canapes are $8/person.

Does anyone have pictures of the decorations they include for the ceremony and semi-private dinner? Pictures please. Also are the hair and makeup services great there or just ok? What is the quality of the makeup?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
