Welcome and congratulations!!

There is no rehearsal the day before.  You really don't need one either.  They will tell you exactly where to go and what to do.  Plus, I'm sure you've been to enough weddings to get the idea of who stands where :)

As for rehearsal dinner, many brides set up a time and place to meet in the buffet.  If you get there right when it opens you can "reserve" a section for your group.  This option seems to work the best and doesn't use one of the dinner credits for your guests.

For the symbolic ceremony, you can have your friend officiate.  I'm sure it'll be lovely!

Does anyone know how the Bahia Principe resort handles wedding guests that aren't staying at the resort?  Is this even possible or has anyone had any experience with this?  Thanks for your help!

1)  Wedding location does everyone recommend ?( Akumal Beach, Beach Front, or Gazebo)

All three are gorgeous.  I prefer the Akumal Beach or the new Tulum Beach location, personally.

2) Flavor of cake?? ( Chocolate, Vanilla, Raspberry, Coffee, White Chocolate w/Coffee, Coconut or 3 milks?

Three milks is my favorite at the resort, followed by the Raspberry.

3) Flowers( Now it says that the i get the Dendrobium Orchids/Wrapped and round with Long stem) Does anyone have a picture? and can i get different ones?

4) Music- Can we have it at the 2 hour open bar? Which one do you recommend, Mexican Guitar Trio, Mariachi band?

I had the Trio at my cocktail hour.  it was fantastic!  They only played for 45 minutes, but you can pay for them to stay longer.  They were a great lively addition though.

5) Food, where does everyone recommend, Tequila  or Tortuga? If so which supper( My Finance is allergic to Shell fish :(

I'm allergic to shell fish as well and I haven't had a problem at either restaurant.  I prefer the Tortuga.

hi guys,

just got back from my wedding,n all i can say is there is no need to stress about anything. the day after we arrived we met with the w/c. we had Estefania and wendy. they were absolutely brilliant.they go through step by step as to what will happen on the day and were ppl will be picked up and dropped off. she will give you a full itinery of timings for the full day to issue to every person in your party. i had my ceremony at the Tulum beach location at 1pm.Amazing!! originally was at akumal hammocks but so glad i changed at the last minute.such a private location with no passers by,were akumal i felt like everyone could see your wedding.we didnt need no decor for the site and im glad as we were literally married in 10 minutes.would of been such a waste of money.my bouquet was stunning. sent a picture of what i wanted months before and it exactly matched. no extra charge. we only paid for 1 hour of photography and that was sufficient. i didnt have them photograph me prior to wedding as i wanted more time for photos at ceremony site.they still produced over 400 photos n quality was brilliant.we still ended up buying them all.we had martin from Tropic one studio.heknew exactly what to do! we had a toast afterwards n more photos then we all got dropped at tulum reception were we all headed for the main indoor bar..for our reception do we had the bbq theme round the tulum pool. best choice ever. only downside was the heavens  opened up but the chefs/organisers/w/c did there best to keep the place dry but it couldnt be helped! we carried on with the party and danced the night away in the rain.didnt spoil anything. we had the mexican trio for the first 45mins of dinner then we had the dj for 4 hrs. we did take an ipod incase he didnt play the type of music we wanted but we didnt need it,he did a fantastic job...at the bbq there was enough food to feed the hotel. tons of meats/fish/salads/dessets etc. even an ice sculpture which we didnt know about. everything was perfect n such a stress free day. we were told in the afternoon that there was a chance of rain in the evening n because we'd had 9 days of beautiful weather we thought it might of only been a shower.we could of moved to indoors at saan kaan hotel but decided to stay outdoors. just felt sorry for all the workers. they go above n beyond for you to have a fantastic day.i would do it all again in a flash. rain or no rain. w/c went through with me what i wanted collecting up at the end of the night and we picked the items up the next day.we got an upgraded room on arrival with bottle of bubbly n bowl of fruit.parents had bubbly n fruit to. we also got gold bands, parents did to, which meant you could go anywhwere on resort. all our guests got upgraded with bright pink bands which meant they could go in akumal hotel as well. think its because we booked over a year ago when the akumal was included. when we returned from our wedding in the evening we had chocolate strawberries and a bottle of moet in our room, think the moet might of been from what was left over from our toast.we had our romantic meal at the don pablo restaurant. you also get a bottle of bubbly n a gorgeous cake for afters. our  wedding cake was 3 milks. gorgeous!!

the day before the wedding we booked a catamaran from 9-1pm  with paradise catamarans for all our guests. fantasic day. they also surprised us with a wedding cake n bubbly n really looked after everyone.   any questions please ask as i cant remember everything off the top of my head.ill put some photos in my gallery as they wont upload.

@@DonnaandDaz congrats!! you looked stunning! did they include the flowers and the white covers on the chairs at the ceremony?

I have a little rant. I am getting very annoyed working with Linda. My wedding is in November, does anyone know when I will be assigned a wedding coordinator? I am just having a very hard time getting questions answered and the language barrier is killing me.

In the mean time I have a few questions I would appreciate anybody's input in.

I have requested Arlequin restaurant for the reception dinner, does anyone know what the shape of the tables are and how many people sit/table? Do you get a sweetheart table?

The ceremony is scheduled for 2pm, what time do you suggest I book in for my and my 5 brides hair? I would like to do the hair at the salon and then have time to go back to my room and get ready with my girls. I also would like some time for a few pictures before the ceremony. Should I be putting in a request with the salon now? Did everyone email the salon or book this through their WC.

I want to bring my iphone to play music at the ceremony. Do they have the proper hookups for this? How many songs do I need?

How are guests supposed to get to the wedding site? @@DonnaandDaz you said they give you an itinerary? That"s perfect! Did it say what time to be at the dinner? I wanted to get some pictures done seperate from my guests but not leave them stranded without a plan.

I want to rent the speakers to play my own music for the poolside reception. I have all my music on my iphone, will that work?

Anyones input is appreciated!!

I brought the flowers but they provided the chair covers.my wedding/c didn't get in touch with me till about 4 months before the wedding. Once you start hearing from them they are very prompt with replies. My w/c spoke brilliant English.when you meet with them they give u a full itinerary of the whole day. Nothing should go wrong trust me! They picked all my guests up from tulum lobby apart from a cart for 6 ppl to my room and a cart for the groom/ groomsmens room. They take the groom to the lobby half hr before ceremony and once they check everyone's rhere they then ferry everyone to the location your getting married at. Bride gets picked up 10 mins before ceremony. They have everything under control and all the staff have walkie talkies to keep everything running smoothly. My flowers arrived an hour before and then they took grooms to him. I had 7songs on a disc for ceremony. 2 for groom n guests. 1 for bridesmaids. 1 for bride. 2 for register signing and 1 for exit. Once you exit they have the toast and start doing photos.it flies by and while ur having ur photos I'm sure everyone else will keep snapping away and drinking. I only had an hour photography and it was plenty. Would of hated more time. Once the photographer had gone ppl were still having more photos in groups with there own cameras. They then asked once we had finished if we wanted taking back to reception. Everyone has an itinery so they should know pick ups n drop off times. They are so organised.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
