@ thank you! They said max 10 per table, so we went with 6! They haven't mentioned if the tables are round or square.

I asked our wedding coordinator if we could book into an a la carte restaurant the evening before the wedding or have a reserved area in the buffet restaurant for us and our 57 guests, I've had a reply to the email but she didn't answer my question. Has anyone else been able to do this?

Two questions that I hope you can help with

1. Does anyone have the most updated pricing for the SPA? I emailed them more than once with no response

2. Did you tip the DJ, Symbolic minister, wedding coordinator? if so about how much ?

Thanks!

I had an area of the buffet reserved for our group, but I'm not positive if they do it anymore.  Regardless, if you get there in the evening when the Buffet opens, you should be fine securing an area for your group.  Specifically the Akumal buffet.  There is the "normal" entrance across from the shops, however if you use the entrance NEXT TO (so past the "normal" entrance) the shops less people are over there and you should be able to snag up enough tables for your group.

I did place cards as well. They put a table at the front of the restaurant with the cards on them and people grabbed their names and sat where ever they wanted at the table. Tables were big, we had 9 and 10 people to the tables and 2 guests squeezed into a table of 10 with all our other friends cause there was still room. They were long rectangle ones and we had one round table.

We tipped the bartender, DJ, wedding coordinator and restaurant staff. Amount really depends on what you can afford. We pretty much did 20 a person then 10 per person in restaurant cause 5 of them were serving us. I would have liked to give them more cause they were awesome but trying to stick to a budget. We just put them all in envelopes labelled and gave them to wedding coordinator at our day after meeting cause we weren't prepared day off with it and we were kinda busy. Hopefully she gave it to them :/

Can't wait to see your pictures!!!

I also gave her ours the day after because I didn't get my stuff together before hand.  I also hope she dispersed the money!  I put them in envelopes with cards too - but I tipped the reception people as a group and they have to break it apart.

You guys might want to look into splitting the costs of flying in a photographer?  It could be cheaper for you both.  And with over a week in-between your weddings you could possibly get even another bride and make it even cheaper!

Just throwing that out there as an option :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
