ohhhh really interesting. unfortunate about the price increase :( but I think you are still saving not having to pay an extra 35/pp? I hear akumal has lots of good options so I guess that's still a plus. and you got a good price too. wish we picked akumal instead of coba now!. oh well

Yes we are very happy to not have the extra $35 pp charge! The extra 150 isn't a big deal at all, I just noticed it today and thought I would let any other Akumel guests know. Yes, our travel agent is awesome and got us a great rate right before it changed to luxury.

That's a great price. I priced Coba for my jan 2015 wedding and it was well over $2000 PP.

I should say that's from Canada for 7 nights with hotel, airfare, transfers and tax

We got prices for Calgary and Toronto.. she said it was so much over $2000 she didn't even want to tell me what it was LOL!!  Not sure the carrier, but it would be similar time frame to yours as we are getting married on the same day!

We are playing $1565 out of Calgary now for our resort, and our Toronto guests are paying $1465.

Hi All! Looking for some general advice. I was talking to one of my TA friends last night and she said with a November date I need to be prepared for my trip to get cancelled due to a hurricane. But if I moved it to January I am worried about flights being cancelled/delayed due to snow conditions in Toronto. I really don't want to push my date to March/April 2016 but if it is my best bet I will. Thoughts??!?

November is the tail end of hurricane season. I'm not too worried about it, but I am going to get insurance just in case.

I know I've asked this a couple times, but does anyone know anything about this "new tulum beach location" for ceremonies? I'm waiting to hear from the resort about whether they will honour their earlier statements that I'd be allowed to get married at Akumal, and I want to know if it's a viable alternative in case they say no after we've already put down deposits.  The ceremony location is the only thing that I am really unwilling to compromise on. I do not want to get my wedding photos back and have a big guy in a speedo watching in the background like a creep, as happened to my FH's cousin.

Hi all,

Not sure if anyone can help me but I've just received a price breakdown of how much our wedding package is going to cost. The first part is

1. the total price of your wedding package will be 1570 usd + (16 extra guest * 25 usd each one) =

1, 970.00 usd

I've already paid for the sunshine package through our TA so really not sure what all this price is for?? Also what are the extra guests added on for??

@@DonnaandDaz The wedding cost gets added to your room charge at the resort (or so it would appear) so the resort probably hasn't received anything from the TA. Also, the Sunshine package includes 20 people, so you must have 36 booked? If you look at the 2015 packages that I posted a few pages back in this thread, the prices per person are listed.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
