Back when I got married, you paid for everyone whether they drank or not.  They did end up giving me a slight deal on the two kids that were under 2, but they had said they wouldn't.

The tulum poolside reception is beautiful and I don't think you NEED a light up dance floor.  It's pretty cool... but if you're looking to save money, most people don't get it.

There is a dress code for Arlequin.  Long pants for the men.  There are very few restaurants where this is enforced anymore, but that's definitely one of them.

I have photographed a wedding where they brought in hair and makeup.  It was amazing and very relaxing to have the bride getting ready in the comfort of her own room.  However, I have heard they are getting more strict on bringing in outside local vendors.

I keep receiving emails sporadically from the Tropic One Studio and photographers there, all saying different things with different conditions. It is so frustrating considering I am leaving in less than 20 days with everything and everyone booked.

The first time they replied (after many emails and attempts) saying there is no fee if they photographer stays minimum of 5 days!! (this is what we went with and booked our photographer)

Then they emailed my fiance about 3 months ago saying something completely different and now again TODAY saying the minimum stay is 7 nights and there is a fee of $1000.

This is just wrong. I will continue going with the first email they sent me, I don't know what is true at this point.

@@Ellia123 I was afraid this was going to happen!!

My photographer went to a wedding in Jamaica at the bahia there and this was the case , even though photographer was staying 7 days as a guest there was still a 900 fee. I agree it's completely insane !!! Pretty much forcing brides to use their photographers even if u don't like them on YOUR wedding day. So as of right now bahia in Mexico wasn't inforcing this new rule. I would print the email and bring with you stating that there was no fee and fight it if you need to. My photographer said the bride in Jamaica fought it and didn't have to pay. They also use tropic one photography.

Nothing so far has been told to me about this fee in their wedding packages. We don't hear from them till 3 months before and by then most will have a photographer already booked as I do. I am really hoping this isn't a issue when I go. Good news is u have the first Email stating otherwise you can use as back up

I'm wondering if we should have a private party until 11PM or until 0h30 AM ?

Could anyone give me an advice...

I know that there is the discotheque as well...

I am doing mine until 11, even though it will cost more, I think people won't want things to end within 3 hours so it's a good idea to have the option of the wedding going until 11pm and if people are still not tired then head over to the hacienda area and the club

@ Tiseege

Realy?? They've told us that it would be an 300$ extra charge if we party after 11pm but that it would be possible.

Have you seen it? Do you think it is worthit?

I'm worried that if we end the poolside party at 11pm, that a lot of people are going to go to bed and then, the wedding party would end...

How is the discotheque? I'm worried that my uncles, aunts, parents wouldn't be interested to go there. It seems to be verry louded and young... What do you think?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
