OFFICIAL Gran Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Thread

  • 4 weeks later...

I am wondering if anyone can help me.... I am needing some names of photographers that I can either pay in for the day to the resort or even fly in for 1/2 nights - whichever works out cheaper.  The packages they offer will have to be reasonably priced too.

As I am from Scotland it is proving difficult to locate any photographers that I can contact for prices etc...  Any help will be much appreciated!!

Hi LeeAnne,

There are two options for what type of photographer you can have.

You can hire the resort photographer or you can fly in your own photographer.

If you fly in your own photographer, they have two options.  Stay for 3 nights and pay a $400 fee or stay for 5 nights (typically cheaper).

January flights are expensive right now, though.  Hopefully they'll go down.  Typically to hire me it's about $2750 but with prices what they are currently it'd be $3400 USD.

The cost for the day is $1000.  That includes full day wedding coverage and the edited full resolution digital images.  It also includes an online gallery for family and friends to view the images (I can show you the most recent wedding I shot at Akumal if you'd like to see an example of that... but be prepared, it has 1200+ images!).

I'd have to verify with a travel agent the cost of staying at the Akumal side but I would guess it'd be around $2000 TOTAL for each of you.  Possibly slightly cheaper.

Hello everyone!

I'm new to this thread but wish I'd found it before we booked our wedding! So much useful information!

We're staying at Akumal 2/4/15-17/4/15 getting married on 10/4/15 at 2pm. Hopefully at the beach setting, I think it's the Akumal gazebo? But not entirely sure! We have around 50 guests travelling with us and staying at Akumal, and four are travelling separately and staying at the coba, so I'm hoping this rebrand isn't going to cause us extra stress! We booked it through First choice.

I look forward to hearing about your up and coming weddings!

Sam

Hi @@Maggietron - I am getting married November of this year.  Flying from Toronto, my guests are paying $1330 (Canadian) each for double occupancy rooms.  I confirmed my rate back in March before there was any news of the Luxury re-brand.  Flying with Air Transat.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
