You guys are getting within a day of each other!  How fun!

The salon is usually very good if you bring a lot of pictures and patience.  Makeup, you'll probably want to do your own though if you're a makeup artist.  I don't think you'll be happy otherwise.  Or have a friend do it?

You used to be able to bring in external hairdressers and makeup artists for the cost of a daypass (I recommend MVP), but I don't think they allow it any more.  It's worth asking, for sure!

As for decorations, they provide white.  Any color you want will be extra.

The only comment I can make on what to bring or not bring, is don't waste your time, money, or suitcase on candles.  Outside it's too windy to keep them lit and inside they just aren't needed.

Thanks for that, I think I will prob do te makeup on my own.. Should hopefully not need too much anyway if we have a good tan!

I'm pretty sure the salon will be ok for the hair, will definitely take pictures along..

So you are a photographer Trisha? I take it you live close to the resort? If so I am interested in getting a quote for my day.

I actually live in the US in Wisconsin!  But I have flown in and photographed a bunch of weddings at the resort.

Flights aren't out for January yet, but it tends to be around $2750 to fly me in for full day wedding photography coverage.

On the topic of that, if there are any photographers on here that will be at the resort on November 11th who would be interested in second shooting, I would be interested :) my sis in law is a wedding photographer but we are wanting her to enjoy herself too.

Hi Ladies,

Quick question for those of you who frequent the Akumal portion of the resort - Does anyone know a good location to have a rehearsal get together? I know when we were there last, they had white loungers outside of the main lobby for sitting - not sure if there would be enough for 45-50 people. Has anyone else had a rehearsal get together at Akumal?

Those lounge chairs are usually really busy.  For us, we went in the buffet, however most people enter the buffet right across from the main store, but if you keep walking and turn LEFT, there is an entrance over there.  Barely anyone sits over there and that's where we had our very private rehearsal dinner.

Hi everyone, just decided on getting married here in September 2015, I've emailed about available dates to see what dates we could do but yet to get a reply? Anyone have an idea if there somewhere I can look online?

How did everyone go about booking the wedding, did you go through GBP or a Travel Agent, find it hard reading the threads being a UK bride trying to find information from people in the UK to relate to.

I've stayed here 2/3years ago and loved it, think we will stay in the Coba.

What locations are there to have a wedding on the beach?

Would like to have the reception dinner at the steak house, how far in advance can you reserve this for abou 40/50 guests!

Also what is the price per head once you use your wedding package dinners, say we need to pay for another 30 guest how much would it be?

Thank you in Advance xx

I booked via Thomas cook, sent the hotel an email and waited..

Don't expect a reply for a long time, I get married in September this year, still waiting to speak to them in any kind of detail. Got date, time and location but that's it. I'm not worried though as they only get going with discussions 3 months before the date.

Just book the holiday then email them and relax!

How do I know if the wedding dates etc are available when I book it with the travel agents? Did you do a big group booking with everyone on it or have your guests to book individually? X

Booked all at the same time, 2 others added to it later on.

You don't know the date, so we booked the holiday and told them a preferred date - and got it. There is no kind of availability checker as such. Don't think the hotel will entertain you either until they know you are booked in to stay there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
