When did you get married and which location? We are August 4, 2014 at tulum gazebo.

How long was your ceremony about?
How long did it take you to get your documents transferred before flying down for your wedding?
How long did it take for your marraige license to be mailed?

Thanks :)

The important thing is that it has to be AFTER everything.  So AFTER they pronounce you husband and wife.  You cannot interrupt the official ceremony at all.

I got married at the Akumal Hammock location on April 11, 2008.  So things have definitely changed, but not too drastically.

My ceremony was about 20 minutes.

I didn't transfer any documents before my wedding and they didn't mail my wedding license.  I didn't need it notarized or translated in my state.

I brought down a lot of paper towel and shoved it in the vase SUPER tight.  That way the sand couldn't move around very much at all.  I just REALLY packed it in.

Thursday night is the fiesta and the disco is not available to guests unless you pay the per person fee to go to the party.

Can someone please email me the photographers price list? katlewitzke@gmail.com

Also, how much extra would it be to have my friend take photos of us?.... meaning, would we have to pay a fee to allow this? (I have two friends that have taken some photography classes that would do it for free or next to nothing)

Thanks! :)

My wedding is August 4, 2014 and I plan to send out my invites after the holidays. We already sent out save the dates. I also plan to include a letter with the travel agent information, as well as activities to do in the Akumal area.

Virtually no wave surge or currents, even when seas are rough. Yal Kul is spring fed by freshwater underground rivers that have formed it. The freshwater mixes with sea water from Yal kul's inlet to the sea. Modest entrance fee required unless you rent a lagoon-front property. Snorkel tours are also offered by several adventure tour operators. Floatation vests are strongly recommended for snorkeling.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
