Thanks,

Carolina

@CarolinaGomez - I don't see the Vow Renewal package on their website, where did you see that? I know the Remember package (non legal) is minimum 20 guests.

You can fly in a photographer (honestly, it's cheaper than the hotel photographer and you'll get better and more pictures).  You can also have the photographer stay at a different hotel, however you are then charged a $800 day pass... so that doesn't make much sense.

Hi there! Very new to the forum but finding it very helpful so far! We're getting married Febraury 19th, 2014 (Hopefully! Haven't been able to confirm our date yet)

Regarding photography, just wondering if anyone has any advice or experience when it comes to flying in a photographer from Canada or the US?

I honestly don't love what I see from the resort photographer but don't have a clue where to begin looking for a reasonably priced photographer that would travel?

Finding a photographer that will travel is actually pretty easy.  Start with ones that you love and simply send them a message (if they don't already advertise that they photograph destination weddings).  Tell them you're getting married in Riviera Maya and you're wondering if they'd be available for destination weddings.

If they say yes, then talk details such as price.  If no, then move on.

Expect to pay at least $2,500 due to travel costs and then probably some amount above that.

If photos of your wedding are important to you, I think it's worth it though.  You get SOOO much more in terms of hours of wedding day coverage and end product.  I think you'll be more than happy with the investment.

When we were there 2 years ago we met another couple that had just been married and there was only 6 of them - bride, groom and 4 witnesses Not sure where you are from but with the UK packages the cost was still the same - maximum number 30 then you pay more for each extra person.

We were originally going to have 10 of us going but it has jumped to 21 - cant wait.

Hope this helps. Kirstin x

HI Eilies OD,

I emailed 2 weeks ago and got nothing so I went to Barcelo Maya Beach and they replied the same day with the info I needed and it meets all of our needs but a bit more expensive but I would rather pay than be ignored.

Good Luck

Hi everyone,

We are booked for January 30,2014 to get married at the GBP Coba.

We have 50 guests booked from January 26-February 2 coming from all over Canada.

We are booked with Westjet Vacations and got a really great rate. (lower than what we budgeted for)

I am really thankful for this thread. I have so many questions and this thread has answered a ton of them.

Thanks so much!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
