Thanks a lot! Im guessing that when you book via thomas cook etc they just speak with the WC at the hotel. So thats why I was just thinking it would be better, quicker (and slightly cheaper) to cut out the middle man and just book direct with the hotel... hmm!

Yes that is exactly the case.  Once you get planning the WC will be in touch directly and you can deal with things.

These are a note of some amazing and helpful thread/links

"Post Your Wedding Date" http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/9132/post-your-wedding-date/657

Brides (& grooms) can see who is getting married on dates close to them . It is handy too as some wedding parties have shared the cost of some vendors (photographers in particular)

These are the links to each of the 3 different locations, if you click on each of them then click on the photos in turn you are given a 360 degree view of each point - pretty good

Tulum Gazebo wedding location is on the furthest right of this picture

Akumal wedding location is roughly on the large beach area in front of the swimming pool that is on the left side of this picture. Coba is the area in the background - it is central and doesnt have it's own beach area.

Thanks for the reply Kirsten!

Just one more (for now) question.. Ive not seen anything on here about minimum amount of people to book a wedding, but on the hotel website it states minimum of 20 people per package. Im aiming at a small group of maybe 20 people, but with a good chance of people dropping out.. Would that mean they wouldn't go through with the wedding? I have read in here somewhere though of small groups of like 10 people getting married..

Hi

Your wedding will be fine, the cost is for minimum of 20.  Originally for ours there was only going to be myself, H2B and 6 guest - now we are myself, H2B and 19 guests (1 child hence the odd number. I booked the holiday for the original 8 and everyone else has booked their own.  x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
