Hi Beth, we have almost the same wedding date but 1 year apart. As for your engagement ring, I had no problems at all. I was very careful to not wear my rings at the pool or the beach. When I didn't wear my rings I would always place it in my jewellery box and in the safe that is in every room. The safe is complimentary for Brides/Grooms starting the day of the wedding and after until you depart. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Just curious, why wouldn't you wear your ring to the pools or the beach?  Isn't it more safe on your finger than left in the room?  Or is yours loose that it'd fall off in the water??

Hi, I've just joined this site today and we are looking at this resort for our wedding next year, we will not be travelling with any guests just myself, partner and our two girls who will be 5 and nearly 2. I've got a few questions of that's ok? Does the resort have a kids pool with a slide? Where do I access the price list for the wedding packages? What happens about witnesses can we use friends we may meet there? Can anyone reccomend photographer/video? Do you get your hair and make up done in resort or outside? Do they have use of a horse and carriage? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you in advance and nice to meet you all. Michelle x

Do you recommend getting hair and make up done in resort? Thinking of October is this hurricane season? Do they have access to a horse and carriage? Thankyou in advance and nice to meet you all. Does the resort have a kids pool with a slide? There is not a slide with a pool.  There is a shallow pool.  It's about 1 1/2 feet deep?  But no true "kiddie pool"
Where do I access the price list for the wedding packages? The first page of this thread or the resort website
What happens about witnesses can we use friends we may meet there? I have heard that the wedding coordinator can provide them, or you can find some nice people at the pool :)  But they will have to sign the marriage certificate during your ceremony, so unless they are resort provided, they will need to be present at your wedding.
Can anyone reccomend photographer/video? Naturally, I recommend myself :)
Do you get your hair and make up done in resort or outside? You can get your hair done in the spa or hire a local company to come to your room.  I will have the opportunity to see The Makeup Pros.
Do they have use of a horse and carriage? No.  The only resort I know of in the Riviera Maya that does is Moon Palace
Sorry for all the questions. Thank you in advance and nice to meet you all.

I am wondering can you get married further down on the beach past the tulum section of GBP? I want to get married right on the beach aka shore, not in a gazebo not at the akumal or coba beach as it is too rocky and I simply just want ocean behind us. Also, what other options are there if we dont want the cost of the pool side reception? We stayed at Coba last yr and that is where we will be staying again march 2013 we are possibly planning on getting married when we come but havent decided yet if this is the place to get married, it all depends if we can have a shore wedding. If we chose Mexico we will be having a symbolic wedding as there is too much hassle with legal paperwork getting married in mexico, but we may chose Jamaica or Bahamas

I would say you cannot get married on the beach in Tulum and I don't think you'd want to either. It's on an angle so would be very hard to have chairs for guests. It's also extremely crowded and wouldn't romantic at all. Perhaps a private hotel in Tulum is more what you're looking for

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
