How exciting Kristi!  What time on the 11th?  That's the day I fly in... so you know I'll need to hide in the bushes and spy on you a little! :)

Oh yes, and as for the deep sea fishing... i have never gone, but I have heard good things about www.pescamaya.com, however it's also good to know that deep sea sport fishing in January is supposed to be pretty bad (as in no catches), so you might want to prepare the boys for that.

I will be arriving at the Coba on Jan. 28, 2012 and my wedding date is Feb. 2!  I am doing the symbolic ceremony at the Tulum at 3pm (hopefully in the gazebo, although I am waiting for confirmation).  We are having our dinner at the Portofino restaurant followed by a private poolside reception for dancing, garter and bouquet toss, speeches, and cake cutting.  My wedding planner at the resort said the only cost for the poolside reception is $210 usd per hour for the DJ and $5 usd per person per hour for the special cocktails bar.  I am still waiting to hear if there are tables, chairs, or decorations provided for the poolside reception...does anyone know?

My husbad and friends did a deep sea fishing trip on 12/2/11 it was not worth it. They hooked into one right before their time was up and it ended getting free. It isn't a good time of year to go. There was 10 of them for 8 hrs and caught nothing....

For 2 hours (national bar) it was $29 per person and for 3 hours it was $41 per person. I know we payed $1700ish for ours. They only charged me four half of the children not all 6 of them.

I brought the lanterns though, they had nice candle centerpieces, lights and balloons.

Lyzzie33:

Thanks for the photo!  I was wondering if I needed to bring candles, etc. for centrepieces, so it's nice to see that they have them!  I still plan to bring rose petals and sea shells to scatter around the candles.  What did the candle centrepieces look like? I'm hoping for glass vases with pillar candles in them or something along those lines.  Even if the dinner happens in one of the restaurants, do they automatically provide the tables and chairs for the dancing reception or do you have to ask for them?

Hello brides! I have been to the Bahia Principe 5 times over the last few years....most recently this past June with my family where I got engaged! We are not getting married here....decided to try somewhere new. Going to the Now Sapphire in Riveara Maya. If anyone has questions about the layout of the resort or the restaurants.... I would be happy to answer your questions! You will not go wrong getting married here.....the service and the employees are absolutely wonderful! Food is excellent! Harlequin and Don Pablo are our favorites! Good luck planning!!! Heather Violet

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
