I am having my wedding April 13, 2013 for 50 guests. My fiance and myself are the only ones staying there because it is too expensive for our guests. I am looking at Villa Del Mar and The Sands for my guests because they are more reasonable. I have not gotten any other details secured yet..lol I am still working on the rest!  I am considering Brilliant photography though. The resort is PERFECT, I love it and they are so great to work with! How many are in your wedding party? What are your colors? It is great to have input from other brides planning their wedding there!

Since my wedding is in August the room rates are much cheaper, I think cheapest starts at $500. There are more affordable options, but keep in mind that the Gansevoort is farther from the other resorts so your guests will need to cab it or get a shuttle for your wedding.

We're still debating whether or not we're going to bring along our family & close friends. As of right now it's just the two of us and we're having an at-home reception in December (only time that works for us)

Have you gone over ceremony set up with Dorell? I'm curious to see what all is included with our wedding package. I have a rough outline, but it's hard to tell. We're doing a phone consult with her this weekend though.

What level room did you select for the two of you?

Hi all,

My wedding party is about 35 guests (wedding date: 10/2012) and we are all staying at the Gansevoort. The rates are cheaper once you start negotiating - I was able to bring it down significantly after room block. However, it is still an expensive hotel and we are offering financial assistance to those that may need help, esp because the resort is somewhat isolated and it will be difficult for our guests to travel back/forth from other hotels.

I'm bringing my own photographer from NYC to cover the entire weekend - we are having welcome cocktails on Friday at the poolside,  rehearsal dinner at Bistro Bay the following night, and beach wedding on Sunday with tented reception.

However, I'm having difficulty finding a DJ or a band. I reached out to NaDa and I LOVED them when I saw them play at the Seven Stars... Anyone recommend a live band that's simliar in style to Nada?

I am trying to select my room today, which one did you guys choose for the Gansevoort? I believe they are starting around $650.00 Also when you got the room blocks how low did it take your rate? I am considering having my guests stay somewhere cheaper. I am also considering a welcome dinner at Bay Bistro. I did consider bringing a photographer but they must get a working license in order to shoot in Turks so it is cheaper to just use one there.

I'm not doing a room block since it will only be me and my husband to be, so I can't speak to that.

As for Bay Bistro, I heard they are one of the best on the island, and they do beach BBQs which I have seen and they are super cute!

Are you using the bougainvilleas or are you having them fly in different flowers for your bouquet? I kind had my heart set on white tulips or peonies, but I'm not sure I want to pay extra.

Hi Everyone!

I'm getting married at the Somerset in May, but also looked at Gansevoort. When we checked, they were charging us a 'site fee' which i thought was a bit ridiculous considering we were filling a room block. Across the island, we found that getting a room block would get you 20% off of the advertised rates. In May, we were able to get the cheapest rate for Gansevoort for $400.

My colors are silver and tiffany blue. I'm super excited and finalizing things now!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
