How much did you spend on your OOT bags?

Recommended Posts

they may not be long enough for cake slices, but if it's cut into squares, I think the takeout boxes would work really well.

if you need more space, I found these cake boxes online (I think they were the best priced): http://www.myweddingbasics.com/configure/configure.aspx?design=Unprinted_Large_Cake_Favor_Boxes_White&model=PBBoxPlain.tcx&SKU=PB3100

there are others that are wedge-shaped and will make the circle of a cake if arranged together. I liked those as well (sorry, no link saved on them, however). so many brides commented that they had TONS of leftover cake, I really want to make sure each guest will have a piece when they left the reception.

oh right, to answer the main question, I think the OOT bag price range is typically $10 - $20 each. I'm budgeting $2 for the bag (thinking of ordering a reusable shopping bag in white with a mexico-friendly design and seeing if other brides want to buy in to the large quantity), another $5 for t-shirts (we'll make them ourselves with iron-on transfers), $3 for Bubba Kegs (AMAZING deal at WalMart last week) and another $5 for medicines, etc. total ~$15 each.

Hi Kellygrrl,

Where do you plan on purchasing your bags from?  If the price is decent I would be game in going in with you to get a better bulk price.  Yet I may need to purchase a lot sooner than you.  Let me know.

We are having a small number of family members travel down to Grand Cayman with us, therefore we are able to spend a bit more on each bag.  We are doing one per couple and a larger one for my sister as she is bringing her two kids with her.  I was able to get a great deal on Lands End tote Bags so I ordered 8 med size and 1 large one for my sister's.  We are including bubba kegs, 2 per bag (1 tumbler and 1 keg), a wedding week survival kit (standard advil, chapstick, aloe, sewing kit, first aid kit etc), playing cards, frisbees, tortuga rum cakes (native to grand cayman), cayman sea salts (also local company), going to do some personalized golf balls for those who play, soduko books or crossword books, underwater disposible cameras, DIY tile magnets (as favors), beach toys for the kids, also going to pick up some local Cayman magazines to put in there as we are going down a few days early.  I will also be DIY a welcome packet that will include out timeline on a hand drawn cayman map, photoshare card and a handwritten note to each of our guests.  We definitely respect how much money it costs to come on an excursion like thsi and by keeping our guest list small, my estimate these bags will run us about $50 each.

Another bride on here and I went half on bags from www.discountmugs.com. They have lots of bags and they weren't expensive at all. They also give you a discount if you purchase more so that's what we did. Also, sign up on their site and they send out coupons all the time.

yep, that was similar to my idea. I was going to do a generic riviera maya design and see if other girls were interested. that way, we could break up the minimum quantity of 150 and spend about $2 per bag. I just ordered a sample from these guys (thinking white bag with light blue design):

I guess I'll probably be ordering from CheapTotes, all the other brides are so much further in their planning than my procrastinating ass, LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
