FYI: I was in PV recently and have a couple of tips for saving money.

1. If you go outside you can take the Blue Bus (or other bus) to the hotel zone. I did this in May and it was a great way to save money. Go outside and turn left - the stop is near where the walking overpass is.

2. If you go accross the overpass when you are outside, there are cabs accross the street. They are 1/2 the cost of the aiport cabs.

Just make sure you know what the cost would be to take that same taxi to the airport from the location you are going to so you know how much it should cost. If you don't know, they are not going to give you that great of a deal. You can call your hotel and ask the fare for a return trip to the airport.

Also we took one of these cabs on our very first trip and he reversed down the road at a very high speed for a very long distance. Then he took us through a cut through to the main road (came out near the Carls Jr/Hardees). I was really questioning our decision at that point. But it is just because they are facing the wrong direction on the highway to go to PV. They are pointed at Nuevo Vallarta. It turned out fine and he was really nice. Overall our experience with cabs in PV was great on both of our trips this year. They drive kind of crazy but it is no different than in NYC and at least these are nice and talk to you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
