In Memory Of...

I don't know how I am going to use this, but I want to somehow. This is the perfect poem for me and my dad:

Dear Lord please clear a spot for him:

he should have the perfect view.

His little girl's a Bride today,

and I am counting on you.

Let me feel his presence;

as I journey down the aisle.

But let me notice his absence;

if only for a while.

Let me stop to think of him;

As I am given away.

And know that if he could;

he would be here with me today.

Dear Lord please clear a spot for him;

he should have the perfect view.

And if he should get sad today;

Dear Lord I count on you.

That is beautiful Lizz. You should put it in a frame, and set it up at a table at your ceremony, or on a chair where he would have been sitting.

This is a great thread/topic because just about everyone has lost someone special in our lives. I lost my grandmother just a few months ago after a brave/strong/courageous.... battle with cancer. Every time my dad saw her she would ask if I was getting married yet. Although the engagement was after her death I know she smiles upon me. I think that I would use the first part in my program and ask the people there to read/recite/pray/think the second part out loud. ("Perhaps they are not stars".... for program and someone reading "Those we love do not go away.'

Good Luck finding the perfect way to honor those who have left you behind... in the end I think that - the people that you have loved that passed away are still with you. No matter what you say for them... they know that the love was a two way street and love does not need words.

Thank you for the post.

ps- I am totally tearing up with the tears flowing down (aka crying)

I just want to say thank you for this post. I, too, have lost my father and my sister who was 7 months pregnant with my nephew, who didn't survive either. It has been so hard planning my wedding because the thought of them not being there is very difficult. Thanks for letting me see that I am not alone and sharing such great ideas.

I LOVE THIS FORUM!!!!!!!!smile03.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
