Alot of girls on here are going to be missing someone very important to them on their wedding day. For me, it's my Mom.... So, I have been searching for ways to include my lost loved ones in my wedding day, and I thought I would post a couple ideas....

    Possible program wording:

Perhaps they are not stars but rather openings in heaven

Where the love of our lost ones pours through

And shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.

    Celebrating with us in spirit

A memory table with their photos and then

“Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day.
    Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.”

In loving memory of those who are no longer with us…

    (and then listing their names)

    or

“We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday and days before that, too.
We think of you in silence, we often speak your name.
All we have are memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part.
God has you in His keeping, we have you in our hearts.”

    In Loving Memory

Perhaps they are not the stars
    But rather openings in heaven
Where the love of our lost ones
    Pours through
    And shines down upon us
To let us know they are happy

Thank you for loving and sharing
    For giving and caring.
God bless you and keep you,
    Until we meet again.

I'll Miss You at the Wedding
I'll miss you at the wedding,
    with all the family near.
Friends and neighbors will be there too,
all whom I hold so dear.

When I turn to look at them,
    I'll see your empty space.
But because I know you're watching
    it's a very honored place.

And I know that you'll be happy too
because you see that we're in love.
In my heart, I know you are
    You're watching from above.

If Tears Could Build A Stairway
If tears could build a stairway
    and memories were a lane
We would walk right up to heaven
    And bring you back again.
    No farewell words were spoken
    No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
    And only God knows why
Our hearts still ache in sadness
    and secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
    No one will ever know
But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store
    Since you'll never be forgotten
    We pledge to you today
A cherished place within our heart
    Is where you'll always stay

    Whispers from heaven

When I left this world without you
I know it made you blue.
    Your tears fell so freely,
I watched; I know this is true.

    While you were weeping,
    Days after I passed away-
While all was silent within me,
I saw you kneel and pray.

From the wonderful place called heaven
Where all my pain is gone,
I send a gentle breeze to whisper,
"My loved ones, please go on."

The peace that I have found here
    Goes far beyond compare
No rain, no clouds, no suffering-
    Just LOVE from everywhere.

    You need not be troubled
Just stay close to GOD in prayer
    Someday we'll be reunited
My love, HIS love surrounds you always,
    EVERYWHERE!

Thanks so much for sharing. Great idea for a thread.
I can only imagine the pain of losing a parent. Sorry for your loss.
I definitely want to do something like this for my grandparents. Beautiful ideas. :)

Great post Shelley - you got me all teary eyed too.

I will definitely be doing something like this, just not sure yet. Thank you I'm positive I'll be using one of the wording options you provided.

Shelley, they are all beautiful. I have a poem bookmarked on my work computer that I will try to remember to post Monday.

I shot this wedding last year. The brides mother had passed away maybe a year before the wedding. She had me incorporate an image of her mother into one of her bridal portaits. They set this table up with a candle vase that had a transparency photo on the glass with her mom's photo & photos of loved ones that were no longer with them in body.

Kelly if you have an image that you'd like me to try that on - I'd be happy to. Just let me know!
