Viviana was my WC at PPC back when we were married - she moved to PPR shortly after our wedding.

I was lucky to work with Viviana on charges and in person at the resort ... and I had brought copies of each and every email correspondence between us. Once we arrived at PPC and sat down to go over and pay for the wedding ... the charges Viviana had prepared for us included a bill for $8000+ ... when our email correspondence included charges of about $3000.

Since I had the copies of the emails, Viviana honored the emailed prices ... and I had on numeorus occassions in those emails asked if there were any additional charges - and told no, which certainly helped our cause.

We were ready to cancel the ceremony and everything based on the difference in prices, which is why I think she backed down and honored the emails. But, we also had not had to put down a deposit for any of our wedding ceremony of reception prior to arriving.

Stand strong and don't let them screw you.

basically right now, we're goign back and forth over bows and centerpieces....cuz vivianna and i met prior to the 2010 packages comin out....so we agreed on a certain look...i belive i got pics of insirations from her...white table cloths and blue bows on the chairs, and vases with blue water as the centerpieces, included....even the ceremony chairs we agreed wold have organza bows...then when the 2010 packages changed the bows for the ceremony were no longer included....but she said ok for the actual reception bows.....i was fine with this....now teresa is saying centerpieces were NEVER included which is BS and that the bows for the receptions arent either....i knw they are not but vivianna promised she would honor then because she pronmised then early on....so i sent teresa the emails and she says that vivianna is saying that she told me 5.00 for each bow but i told no its not, she meant 5.00 was for the ORGANZA CEREMONY BOWS!!!! not the damn reception bows....vivianna email sent me an email sayign the recpetion table will look like this with bows included and the picture was the blue bows!!! hellooooo!! duh!!!! here the last 2 emails....remember this was after several emails back and forth....

here what she said last:

I completely agree that this is frustrating not only for you but also for me, as I do have may other brides who are just as important and deserve as much attention as you do. I have spent a large part of this day trying my best to help you through this. It is now 11:30 at night and I am still trying to help you away beyond office hours. Please understand I am here for you. And I have actually even saved you over $1300 USD in the wake of all of this that was overcharged to your invoice.

As per Vivianas email , you will be charged $5 per bow. I kindly request that you do not restate things again that I have agreed upon such as the free cake.

No one said you would be disadvantaged, I said I would answer based upon your request. I have told you that I would do my best to help you through this

but the company is not mine and I can not give away things that are not mine to give away. We have an outside vendor who does all of the setups for us and we pay for bows and linins and chair covers, they do not belong to the resort.

I will not be able to answer any further emails this evening and I wont be back in this office until Monday morning.

I hope you have a nice weekend

Regards

Teresa

my last responce to her:

I agree that it is frustrating for you as well. Yes you did save me 1300 but that was 1300 that she overcharged in which you caught and I thank you for that. But That was not you doing me a favor, that was you simply following the rules and pricing. Which points out how vivianna mislead me with pricing. The issue with the bows is clear in the emails. If you read the correct email from bottom up I asked her, since the 2010 packages have changed, would everything we spoke about still stand meaning the ceremony still included the organza bows and she said no they are 5 dollars per chair. I was fine with this, I can just bring my own. I also understood the linen on the chairs for the ceremony was not included anymore. Then I asked speratly about the bows for the reception and she clearly said they were included. She even included a picture herself in her reply email. At this point I think the biggest issue are the bows for the reception which I was promised. I am not asking for anything free from you, only what I was promised. I also understand it is late but since you emailed me, I responded. I did not expect you to email me back this late. The bouquet quote I can deal with as they are not much of a difference from what she quoted me. But to pay for about 50 bows that I was told would be included for the reception is rediculous and I will not pay for it. And to try to make me pay for it and go back and for over that amout of money for bows when I will be spending thousands of dollars between the wedding, and mines and my guests accomodations is even more rediculous. I am not trying disrespect you but you have to understand where I am coming from. I hope you have a nice weekend also and please think about this from my point of view.

girls please give me your opinion if im buggin outhuh.gif? i really think shes the one that doesnt get it and fighting over something that was promised to me!!!

Why not bring your own centerpieces and organza for the bows and save yourself a LOT of money?

I went to the Dollar Tree and Old Time Pottery and bought the plates, votives and votive holders ... wrapped and packed them, brought them in an old suitcase and then added sand and shells upon arrival and our centerpieces were fantastic. I also printed our dinner menus myself to add a pop of extra color to the tables.

Just a thought to avoid the BS of fighting over prices with a new WC and saving a good bit of money...

Babiexoxo,

I am pretty sure I will be running into the sam problem. I saw the new Set up for 2010 and I didn't like it at all. At that point I told Vivianna that I did not like the 2010 set and that was not what I had pick when I put my money down. I told her that I would most likely be changing resort because of this and when that came up she had no problem tell me that I could still have the 2009 package. So I have to wait till monday to talk about this little problem we have. grrrrrrrrrrr

How much it's the Aqua package for 2010? In the 2009 it was 3400$

Babiexoxo- I am sorry you are having so many problems with this right now.

I just got off the phone with with Tesea and everything is good to go for me. I told her that when all of this happend (the WC leaving) it made us all very nervous and that I just wanted to be reassured that everything was still good to go. She has all the picture that I sent and everything. I was happy to know nothing was lost. The only thing that was not right was the Time of my wedding which was changed with no problem. She was very honesty with me and about the thing I want and how I want things to look. She let me know the good or bad of what and then I went on to make my choice about things. Which is all I ask they are the one that do this for a living. She did say they will try and answer as many question as you have. She also said 60 to 70 days out you will do a 2 to 3 hour mega planning session and everything will be layed out with no question left unanswered.

Boudou33: From what I understand your price is based on when you put down your depoist. I do not know the price for 2010 because I put down my depoist before the 2010 rates were out. Now with my TA I know the price went up from 2009 to 2010 which is normal everything goes up with time.

I have included links is for Punta Cana but everything is the same except the Reception and Ceremony location, and Horse Carriage. So you can see what you can have.

I hope this helps some and I'm so sorry for the ones that are having problems!

Jennifer

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
