Hello DR brides!

I was considering Paradisus Palma Real for our wedding in February 2008. I exchanged e-mails with the wedding coordinator. She was great! However we decided to go with Cancun because we felt Cancun would have more experience with weddings and we are having our wedding at a non-all-inclusive (to avoid guest passes). I think Palma Real can still do a great wedding but it is an all-inclusive resort and I know our guests may not be able to afford it there so we will end up paying day passes for guests.

If anyone wants information regarding the wedding packages at this resort please let me know.

Jessica

Here is a reply from Romance Specialist at Palma REal:

Thank you for your interest in our resort and congratulations on your forthcoming wedding!

(For room rates and reservations please contact veneciat@solmelia-caribe.com)

Here at Paradisus Palma Real we understand that your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and we are here to assist you in creating your dream wedding in a Caribbean paradise.

Please find attached our new and exclusive Paradisus Romance packages. You can, of course, add any extras or upgrade any part of your package.

As well as choosing a package one of the most important options to consider is the type of ceremony you require.

We offer 3 main types for you to choose from, however if you require any other type of ceremony do not hesitate to contact us for information.

CEROMONIES:

Symbolic ceremony

This is included in all our packages. The service is taken by a non denominal minister and is almost identical to the civil ceremony except it is not legally binding,

This is far less complicated than the other two options as you do not have to organize, translate and bring legal documents to Dominican Republic.

If you want to be married legally this can be done in your home country before or after your stay with us.

Civil ceremony

A civil ceremony is performed by a Dominican Judge. This is legally binding and comes at an extra charge of $820 which, as well as covering the legal costs, includes the marriage certificate sent to your home address.

PLEASE NOTE: This province of Dominican Republic has only ONE legal judge (for all hotels and locals!) which means securing a date and time is extremely difficult. If you require a civil ceremony please let us know as soon as possible as 2007 bookings are limited.

*Note: The judge is not taking reservation for 2008 until April 2007

Catholic Ceremony

More formal than the other two options, the catholic ceremony is performed by the local Catholic Priest and is legally binding.

Due to this being a religious ceremony, Catholic weddings cannot be held on the beach.

*Extra charge applies

LOCATIONS:

This is dependant on the wishes of the bride and groom and number of guest attending. However here is a guide to our preferred ceremony locations:

The Beach

With the white sandy beaches, amazing turquoise waters and swaying palm trees “Playa Bavaroâ€

is an idyllic location for your wedding ceremony and caters to all group sizes.

Pool Gazebo

Beautifully designed, The Gazebo is located above the main pool and reached between 2 bridges. We recommend this for bridal parties of up to 15 people.

The Gazebo should only be used in late afternoon / early evening due to location in the main pool.

Garden Gazebo

Petit, private and fabulous for ceremonies of 2 or 4 people, located in our hotel gardens.

Our wish is to provide you with your dream wedding…

I look forwards to hearing from you.

Kindest regards

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
