**Paradisus Palma Real Details & Discussion Thread**

Recommended Posts

I've been so busy I haven't been able to get on this forum...I just received an email today from the wedding cordinator I am using and she gave me the same story about the differences in the 2010 and 2011 Aqua Packages.  I'm unsure what to do now as well.  My guest count is still so up in the air that I'm afraid to make any decisions at this point.

I have also been advised that the cocktail hour and the reception must be at the same location now.  crybaby2.gif

BK: I am not using both, but I am having a Judge...Have you decided what time your having your ceremony?

Does anyone have photos of the ballrooms?

Hi, I just got back from my wedding at PPR and i had a great time. I am in the process of putting together my review.

The place is so beautiful that I dont think you want to use a ballroom. You want to be out in the open to enjoy the weather and scenario.

If you coordinator hasn't given it to you they have pictures on picasa of all of the locations.

what are the differences in the prices fotr the min guest?  for 2010 they were pushing the fantasy package with the add-on dinner that included open bar. it seems like for 2011 they added th for open bar.  to be honest, you are going to end up paying 100 per person over the min either. Destination wedding or not it seems like you cant get around the those traditional per plate fees.

it makes sense for them to change the aqua package because for 2010 i didn't ufnderstand why they had the aqua package when you got more for the fantasy package with the add-on dinner

I really want to have my dream wedding at my dream location and it might be selfish but my Fiance and I feel that we shouldn't have to down grade b/c some folks don't want to spend the $. We are expecting 50 but we completely comfortable if only 10 ppl are at our wedding. *shrugs*

They get to be with the group at a nice resort and we donâ€t have to worry about where everybody is located.  If they stay in another resort, they will have to buy day passes to come in to PPR and trust me, Day passes are not cheap! So instead of purchasing day passes, they could take the money and putting into their room at PPR.  This is just my opinion ;)

BK,

I felt the same way, and I chose my dream location.. trust me you wont regret it. PPR is beautiful. Even if your guests, have to pay a little extra they will be completely satisfied. I almost didnt do PPR because of the price and i stuck with and had a wonderful time. We started out with 60 guests and ended up with 30 and we partied. I didn't get to post alot while planning for my wedding, but now that it is over, I am more than happy to help any you brides with questions. I know how it feels when planning so I am here to help. I am working on my review to get posted to help you guys out.

vmelendez319: I'm having my ceremony at 6p.

Lovelytlc: can't wait for your review and pics!

Those location pics on Picasa or not very good. Especially of Olympus Terrace...I can't really get a good idea of what it looks like. I'm sure its gorgeous though since thats all everyone ever says about PPR :-)

Olympus Terrace is nice. it is definitely hard to get an idea how it looks from the picassa photos. I was suppose to have my reception their but it rained on my wedding day, so we moved it to Apollo Foyer. I actually liked this better because it was more intimate than having it at Olympus Terrace. Dont stress about the location the place is gorgeous so you cant go wrong wherever you have it.

Hi LovelyTC!

Thanks so much for your post and those awesome pictures!  Your wedding looked absolutely gorgeous!  It looks like you didnt miss a beat with anything, including your bachelorette party.  It looks like the bachelorette party was at Imagine. Is this true?  If so, what did you think of if?  My girls and I will want to get out for my bachelorette party as well and i thought this might be a good idea.  Please let me know when you get a chance.  Thanks and Congratulations!!

The balloons looked like fun at the reception ...did you provide those or did the dj?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
