What kind of veil should I wear with this dress?

Recommended Posts

Same here I almost had a heart attack when she told me the price......................

I just don't see myself spending too much money on an accessory that I only get to wear for two hours or so.  I think I want to wear the long cathedral veil for the ceremony and some pics.......then for the reception I am going to take it off and wear a flower on my hair.  What about you?

The veil is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I love it but guess what?  I went on ebay and saw a mantilla cathedral veil for $10 dollars so I bought it.  It was my first bid on ebay so I am starting to be a fan of ebay.  I should be getting the veil in two weeks or so.  I'll let you know how it looks and if for some reason the quality is crappy then I will be getting my veil from the same etsy place that you gave me.  Thanks for the info!

Laurelyn,

I came home today from work, walked my dog, walked to the mailbox and guess what????????  Yes, a small little package with my name on it was inside the mailbox.  I immediately looked at it and couldn't read a thing since it was in Chinese.  I inhaled deeply and opened the small little package.  The veil looks RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!  The detail on it its beautiful and I guess in my "cheap eyes" it looks better than what I was expecting for $10 dollars.  Its super long so now I have to drive home (parents house) to try my dress with the veil.  The one thing that it does not have is a clear comb but I can get that somewhere and glue it to the veil.  I will try to post some pics of the veil and my shoes.  As for me the planning well I started last year in December but everyone kept saying that I had all this time and blah blah so I listened to them.  I planned some things from December 2010 to April 2011.  After April I took the rest of spring and summer off from anything wedding related.  Just started in August so now I am a little behind but I'm going to get organized and get everything done.  If I could pull a 20 page paper in less than a day.  I can pull a wedding in the last 3 months that I have left.  My bridesmaids only one has ordered their dress 3 more are still lingering.  As for the groomsmen, my FI likes me to give him at least 2 weeks in advance of planning so I told him by this date we are going shopping for you and the guys.  We went to JoABank ordered his suit and they gave us 70% off.  Then headed to Macy's found the pants and shirts that we liked.  I had previously asked them for their sizes so we bought them and now they are just paying us back.  I figured if you want to get things done its up to us to find a clever way to get things done.  By the way what flowers are you using?  Any ott bags?

Yay sooo excited for you that it turned out amazing thats awesome!!  For flowers I'm just gonna wait until I'm at the resort to choose.  Then for OOT bags I have been having way to much with these until I realized the weight restriction on my luggage and the fact that its an extra $20 for every kilo over so ridiculous!   Are you planning on doing a TTD?

Laurelyn,

I am doing OTT bags but luggage charges were the first thing that came to my mind.  I have seen several brides here on BDW with great ideas but the stuff that they put weights too much.  I don't know how they do it, that's a lot of luggage fees.  I haven't purchased the bags yet but I am looking.  If you come across good and cheap bags let me know!  As for the contents of the bags I have decided to do crossword puzzles, soduko, travel meds, sanitation wipes instead of hand sanitizer.    I really want to get tequila glasses, or small salsa bottles but I'm thinking of buying that when I get to Mexico.  I think that when I get to Mexico, I will be able to shop around and buy local things.  It will give my bags that "special touch."

As for the TTD, yes we decided on having one.  We just decided about a week ago so I am very excited about that.  I am going to be using my dress since I don't see a point in buying another dress for that session.  I read on one of these threads that some girl just took her dress to the cleaners and it was fine.  Honestly, I am very excited about that.  What about you?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
