I am only doing the first look because of the time of year I am getting married and how early the sun sets.  If I were getting married when the sun sets after say 6:30 PM, I would wait and have him see me for the first time when I am walking down.  But the sun will set at 5:10pm on my wedding day and I really don't want to have the ceremony so early (so there is light after the ceremony for pictures) that my guests have to wander off and entertain themselves before the night cocktail hour & reception.

I didn't discover first look till I was browsing weddingbee and then once I saw it I noticed many people were doing it...I like the idea that not just for the sake of time and daylight you get to have that private moment (because it won't be easy to get later) I think I'd like to have all of the wedding party pictures done in before the afternoon ceremony...

clgriffi those were great details

Great ideas!  I've always wanted to do the first look photos, but I truly want it to be a private bride and groom moment (with the photographer of course, haha).  My best friend who go married 2 years ago did the first look photo BUT it was right outside her condo before we were getting into the limo so the entire wedding party was standing right there!  Lol yes very awkward for us and you could tell the bride and groom didn't feel very comfortable either.  So when it comes to my big day I'm making a point to only have the photographer and my FI.  I think this will help capture the best moments.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
