Hello ladies,

I am having my wedding at Le Reve November 12 and have made 2 site visits! We booked up the whole hotel for 3 nights and Arlenis has been amazing! I am so excited!! I will be happy to help with any questions! I am leaving in less than 40 days, so I will try to get back to you asap. I feel like I have a million things to do, but I think every bride feels that way!

Hi everyone! I will also be getting married at Le Reve in May 2012.

I was wondering if you ladies have figured out your menu options. We are going in December to do tastings, but since we have to narrow down our options of what to taste even before we go there, I thought I'd ask and see if anyone has their fave dishes. I've stayed at Le Reve before but I honestly only had their breakfast.

Also, where are you getting cake? The cake at Le Reve sounds good, but I think we are doing cupcakes so we are looking into a good bakery in town.

Thanks!

I am thinking about having my wedding at La Reve in January 2013. I would love any feedback. I love the look of it and the privacy, but am worried with everyone staying there and it being so private if it will be loud if some people want to go to sleep like the grandparents, and some want to stay up. Also do any of the rooms have more than one bed?

I am concerned about asking people to pay that much for rooms as well, since it does not include any food and there is no close by other places.

How was the wedding planner? I read the staff is great and then some of the reviews say they are horrible. Did you guys do rehersal dinners there?

Please help....

Hi echo73! We went to Le Reve in September and did our menu tasting. We haven't finalized it with Arlenis but we have pretty much picked our menu. I am (still) working on our detailed site visit review but I'll try to do that soon with pictures of the food and everything - stay tuned!! I will say though that all of the food was AMAZING and the tasting lasted almost four hours! Their upscale dining was one of the main reasons we picked Le Reve - food is really important to us.

The best part about our tasting experience was the CAKE! We wanted Le Reve to make our wedding cake since it is part of the 5 course menu. For the tasting we asked to sample the tres leches (which is one of their standard deserts) and then we asked them to make a white cake with raspberry filling (not a standard desert). Not really grasping the idea of "white cake", they ended up making us the tres leches with raspberry filling and it was AMAZING! They added handmade raspberry coulis on the side. It was the most delicious cake I have ever tasted, and the presentation was beautiful. Le Reve can't do fondant or fancy cake decorations, but I know for a fact that our cake is going to taste incredible and that is all that matters to me.

If you are set on cupcakes or a fancy cake, I have heard that Dolcet in Cancun is pretty much the best/only place to go. http://www.dolcetcakes.com/

Again, I'll try to find time to post more about the food soon!

How much did you get the rooms for nightly? Did you do a rehersal dinner there? How many guests did you have? Did you hold a open bar, and how did you find food and alcohol costs. I am struggling with deciding to do it here or not. I have not been there, but it looks gorgeous. and I think its the one..... This seems so hard. Ugh.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
