I am getting Delsol as my photographers, I don't think I have to pay the outside vendor fee..I think just the day pass?? 350 bucks for them to come in is crazy. I might just get them a room if that is the case.. which I saw on the forum that's what some brides did.

I have not seen or hear anything about the hair and makeup at the resort. I am very particular about that.   What are you thinking about flowers? Are the resorts flowers really expensive do you know? So, you are making your own invitations? I do not have the time for that and was wondering if you had come across any nice inexpensive one's in your travels?  I feel like I am so far behind in getting my invitations out. My fiance' and I sent out a mass email to all of our family and friends about our date. July 28th 2012!! Who are you working with Pilar? I just have had a hard time getting in touch with her sometimes. It does become frustrating.

KThun, if you do an outside florist is the resort going to set up the flowers? or does the florist. I know that I do not have the imagination skills to do that. :( I just do not want to pay an arm and leg for flowers if that is what the resort charges. I know that I want a lot of elegant pretty flowers too.  YOu also mentioned that the photographer did not seem that great. Have you seen samples of their photography? I would love to see samples.  How much is Del Sol or Luluna photography? Is it worth it to pay their price along with the $350 outside vendor fee? Also, you mentioned that they are replacing the DJ fee? Does that mean with the Divine package we are going to have to pay an additional fee for a DJ?

Anymore help people can provide please do so!! I appreciate it more than you know! Heather

I'm not positive but I think that you just have to pay the fee for a day resort pass for a photographer instead of the $350.  I still haven't decided on a photographer yet, but I'll let you know what I decide! Ana sent me 5 different weddings and I really wasn't impressed with the photographer.  There is one review on here and I must say that her pics are the exception.  I just really don't want to risk having pictures that I don't love.  I might even bring someone from home.  We'll see.   As for flowers, if you use an outside florist but meet them outside the resort to bring in the flowers, then you don't have to pay the fee.  The resort will put out all of the decorations that you bring in, however I'm sure there is a service fee.  The florist will put everything together for you though.  Another idea is do go to the market in Playa del Carmen and get your own but then you'd have to get a little creative with floral tape etc.  :)  I am positive that I can come up with gorgeous center pieces at a fraction of what they are charging!!  As for the Divine pkg...I almost went with that instead of the Eternity until I read the fine print.  It says that in 2012 they are replacing the DJ with a 45 minute soloist or guitar player, etc.  After seeing that, I decided that there really wasn't much of a benefit to paying $1000 more for that package.  I think we are just going to put together playlists on my ipad and then have my niece "dj".  I think you can get away with being a little more casual with things like that when it's such a small group and in Mexico!  My niece is so excited so I think everyone will have fun with it.

Where are you departing from and how many. the reason that it is so high right now is because the air schedules are not out yet so they are quoting you high just in case.

You can send me a personal e-mail and I can explain this more in length if you like.

From Mother of the Groom

I will be visiting the Jade next week so I will ask alot of the questions I see here and let you all know.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
