Congratulations and welcome to the forums!  A suggestion if the parks prices are taking you over your budget.  I worked with a couple on their wedding 2 years ago, they also really wanted to get married in the park but ended up having the wedding at the Occidental Grand Xcaret.  This resort offers distinct locations on property for ceremonies and receptions, including an authentic Mayan ruin.  The wedding party did take some time to get pictures done at the Xcaret Park it is located adjacent to the resort and within walking distance, the shoot they did was incredible.  Happy planning!!

Hi!  I was wondering if you could email me the pricing information as well to naj0707@yahoo.com?  We are interested in a symbolic ceremony and cocktail reception (20-40 people) for an hour afterwards....then we will most likely head back to the resort (The Royal Playa del Carmen).  I am hoping we won't need to pay the rental fee for the location if we are just doing something for an hour or so.  Thanks!!

I am trying to look into other ceremony and/or reception locations other than the Royal Playa del Carme.

Hello jaruszen!  Yes we decided to book this resort specifically for their wedding locations and so they could be walking distance to the park to get pictures done.  I would ask your travel agent to contact Occidental and see if you could have your wedding there even though your staying somewhere else.  I would think that occidental would be happy to host your wedding.

Hi there,

My fiance and I are getting married at Xcaret on May 25, 2013. The hardest part is the waiting! You are all correct, the venue is beautiful. It's unlike anything we've ever seen. We've been to our fair share of weddings, and we refused to have the typical 500 person wedding with a bunch of guests you are not interested in necessarily sharing your day with. After deciding on a destination wedding, a friend of ours recommended Xcaret and we are so glad he did! My fiance and I have both been to Xcaret with our respective families as kids, but never for a wedding. After only looking at pictures online, we were sold. We booked the venue 2 years in advance. Xcaret is quite famous and getting in is not as easy as you would think.

We had our food tasting at a VIP area in a cavern and met with all of our coordinators to get my decor ideas ironed out. I HIGHLY recommend this place. We have been treated incredibly well by their staff; our coordinators have made planning a stress free endeavor; and the place speaks for itself.

Food: OUTSTANDING. If you're interested, I can send you pictures of the plates we sampled. They'll ask you to basically narrow down your choices to create 2 full menus. On the day of the food tasting, the chef presents the sample food (smaller portions) and the actual plate that will be served. You get what you pay for, and we felt the food was worth every penny. We have asked other friends that have been there for weddings and they all came back saying the food was incredible.

Reception Location: YOU WILL NOT SEE ANYTHING LIKE THIS ANYWHERE ELSE. Our reception is at La Isla. Whether or not they attend, we are obligated to pay for 100 persons. We are hoping for exactly that amount. Anything above 125, and the price increases.

"Tornaboda" Location: We elected to have the after party at the beach. Since Xcaret is not techincally a "beach wedding", we decided this was the best way to add that element to our event.

Coordinators: Get your own. I highly recommend Weddings in Cancun. We are head over heels for our coordinators. Xcaret is VERY particular with outside vendors. These women have been doing Xcaret weddings for over 15 years now. They know exactly what they're doing and because of that, Xcaret allows them, and only them, to bring in outside vendors. We have saved a fortune on alcohol, music, decorations, and headaches. I have not had to lift a finger since we hired them. I tell them exactly how I want something, and they see to it that it gets done. Patricia & Paloma, we love you!

Let me know what information you need and I'll be happy to forward along photos or documents. You are right, it's pricey. For ~100 people, we are going to spend about $43,000. Yes, it's a lot for a small guest count, but we don't mind paying that for our CLOSEST friends and family. We did, however, take issue with that budget when we're paying for long lost cousins we haven't seen in years. Happy planning!

Hola Ladies,

Xcaret Weddings = One-of-kind celebrations!!! The location is absolutely gorgeous and offers everything you could ever dream offer: great settings, exquisite food, superb service and amazing spots for pictures.

Do keep in mind a few things:

- Select a getting ready venue close to the park. Most of our gals have gone with the Rosewood Mayakoba Resorts or El Taj Condos. Both locations are only 20 - 30 minutes ride.

- Plan to arrive at least 1hr 30 minutes prior to the Ceremony to do a Bride-Groom portrait session around the park.

- The Park is HUGE so do rely on professionals that are familiar with the location to help you plan your day : ) We would be delighted to assist you with recommendations if needed.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
