TTD then wear it again?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone done a TTD session and then wore it again to your AHR? Originally we were not going to do a TTD session, but we just booked our photographer and she threw it in for free, so why not. I was thinking about buying a cheap knock off dress to wear for it but my FI doesnt understand why i would want to get pics taken in the dress i didnt get married in. I want to wear my dress during our AHR so i am wondering if I do my TTD and bring it home and have it dry cleaned if it will be nice enough to still wear. We are getting married in January and not having our AHR until the summer so it is not like i would be under a time crunch to get it cleaned, I am just wondering if anyone else has done this and how did it turn out?

I'm sure you could TTD in your original wedding dress and then wear it in the summer for your AHR.  I guess it would all depend on what you want to do for your TTD.  If you plan on frolicking around in the forest it might be really dirty and may get wrecked.  If you just are going to take beach and ocean pictures im sure it would be fine.  Just make sure after your TTD session that you wash your dress out with water to rinse the ocean salt off of it.  Then once you get home dry clean it and Im sure it will be good as new!

Why hello there :)

Okay, my opinion is to wear your real wedding dress.  I think the photos will have much more meaning to you.  But next we need to discuss what type of a dress you have.  What is the fabric? Maybe a picture of it would help?

Also, knowing that you're going to be wearing it again will help me decide what type of photos we'll take.  I won't do anything too crazy that will get the dress officially "DIRTY."

We can also just do beach pictures if you don't want to actually get IN the water.  But honestly, after dancing during my pool side reception, my dress was BLACK.  But then when I did my trash the dress in that crystal blue water it came out perfectly clean (just sandy).  Rinsed it like crazy in the shower to get as much sand out of it as we could, hung it up, and it's as good as new.

Well, that makes me feel better, I would really like to get in the water with my dress because I really like those pictures, I guess as long as we dont do anything too crazy to where it would get ripped or stained it should be fine. The more and more I think about it the more i really do want to wear my dress, here it is:

Cheryl, we won't wreck it :)

One of the benefits of NOT having the resort dry clean it, was that I could shove it in my suitcase for the plane ride home and not have to carry it above my head the entire time again!  or worry about finding carry-on space.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
