You can see the setup for some weddings and actual weddings going on.

We haven't done a site visit. I don't think it's necessary. I've researched the resort enough and know some people who have been there and said it's fabulous that I'm not worried about the resort not living up to anyone's standards. Research the resort you are staying at, and remember to disregard the best reviews, and the worst reviews, and somewhere in the middle is the truth! At the end of the day, if you are married, then your goal is achieved! Everything else is a bonus!

We are also getting married at a Real Resort! At the Gran Porto in playa this coming June. I've never seen this resort...nor been to Mexico for that matter.

Most of our decision making came from BDW, our Travel Agent (Legacy Travel), tripadvisor.com, youtube, wedding blogs and our WC.

From my experiance, most of the Real Resorts have the same rules and regulations just different prices.

We're not able to do a site visit either. We've just done some research and have gone by word of mouth. No matter what we will have a wonderful time because we will be with each other and wonderful family and friends. I can't wait! I get even more excited everytime I think about it!

We didn't do a site visit. I think as long as you've done your research, you should be okay. But my FI's uncle will be in Cancun a couple weeks before the wedding, so he's offered to check some things out for me. Or he's offered to let us stay with them while he's there if we want to check it out ourselves.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
