Exactly, one step at a time! I am getting married April 2013 and have quite a bit of weight to lose to get to my goal weight. Both me and my FI want to get into better shape for the wedding and just to get healthier. We've made some good changes in what we eat (more vegetables, fish, lean meats and less carbs), but there is always room for improvement. Now we just need to get better with the exercise portion. We have Wii Fit, does anyone have any experience/suggestions with other weight loss games for the Wii?

If anyone has any good tips, recipes, or anything else to share, please do! I'm sure we could all use it :) Good luck everyone!

I tried it....it's brutal (and I cursed at her the whole time), but it was a good workout

Hi everyone- we haven't set a date yet, but we're looking at March or April 2013 in the Dominican Republic.  I've gained about 25 pounds since I met my fiance and he's gained about 35, so we're both doing Weight Watchers.  I also do 40-60 mins cardio 3- 4 times a week, yoga once a week, and a cross-training class once a week.  So far I've lost only a half a pound in 3 weeks confused.gif.  I have a thyroid disease, so it's always going to be an uphill battle.  that, plus the fact that I get uncontrollable cravings lol.  I could really use the motivation.

I want to try on dresses, but not at my current size.  Looks like I have to wait a while to dress shop.  Most of all, I want to be healthy when I get married (plus, I don't want to be a fat bride)

JLB -

I got engaged in June and immediately went dress shopping, about 5 minutes into the appt did i realize how much weeight i gained. about 25 lbs in 4 years (since i met my fi) he gained about 35 as well, but has since lost it. The following week i went into WW and i have lost 20 lbs. It took me 6 months but the weight melted off! I know you can do it!! The benefit to WW is that its not just weight loss but a healthy lifestyle change and it is AMAZING that your fi is doing it with you, i am on my own!!! Stick with the program and it will work! :) Also, dont over do yourself with the workouts, sometimes the stress of wanting to lose weight prohibits the weight loss, relax it will be great! I now have 9 mths left and can lose the last 10 lbs, so theres my struggle! We can do it!!!

Angela,

Love LOVE all of the Jillian Michael workout DVD's. If you are looking to tone up, i really saw good results in strength and toning with p90x. It is intensive, but do it at your own speed and it is great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
