Possible Wedding in Riviera Maya 2012

Recommended Posts

If anyone can provide details around Ceiba del Mar vs. Fairmont Mayakoba that would be helpful.  I know of course one is a boutique vs. larger hotel.  But any information around pricing, food, service, accommodations, etc would be greatly appreciated.  Are there any items to ask the hotel to include?  Negotiation points, etc.  I see that the open bars at both hotels are very expensive.

Also, has anyone had or been to a wedding at Amarte Maroma?

Thank you so much!!!

We've been playing for weddings reception in both hotels, I suppossed Fairmont is much more expensive than Ceiba del Mar which is in Puerto Morelos and you can go downtown to spend a good time, and the Fairmont is in Riviera Maya between Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen, and the Mayakoba are so beautiful hotels.  By the way, if you want to hire live music for your wedding check Torang Velazco y su Aché pa' ti Orquesta.

Regards

Congratulations and welcome to the forums!

They are very different indeed! I prefer the smaller more intimate boutique type feel but that is completely up to you!

Here is a link to a Ceiba del Mar Wedding: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150201566329487.324776.18683524486&type=1

Best of luck and let me know if you have any questions!

The hotels mentioned are all very different.  As mentioned in other posts, you should definitely check Ceiba del Mar's new policies and owners (there has been a lot of talk of it changing its concept to clothing-optional).  I've done beautiful photo shoots at Amarte!  Check out the shoot on MY BLOG.  While I have not been to the Fairmont, I have done a gorgeous shoot at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba and the class, style, and beauty of the Mayakoba complex is un-matched.  It has a richness to it that truly adds to the magic.  Check out the Mayakoba shoot on MY BLOG as well.

Here are a few comparison pictures as well:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
