Yes, it is the dress I was married in. I had the TTD session the day after my wedding. After taking it in the ocean, I put it in the Jacuzzi tub (no chemicals) in our suite to get the sand out (I left the maid a $20 to clean the sand out of the tub - oopps). I hung it to dry to in the room and brought it home. I put it in my front-load washer, inside out, on delicate and hung it to dry. It looks perfect, not a single sign of distress.

Hi Ladies- your TTD photos are so beautiful.!

Bondgirl- I went with your suggestion with going with del Sol Photography for the Cenote & Beach Trash The Dress.

We are booked for June 4, 2012! I'm going to need your help with more jewelry :)

I bought this sample dress for $150..it was a steal and couldn't pass it up.

Now I'm not sure if I like it or not...it doesn't give me any shape. What do you think?

In a perfect world I'd like to use my ceremony gown but we are going in the cenotes and will need the gown for 2 more receptions. Here is my ceremony gown.

YAY Julie!!! I'm SO excited for you!! Del Sol is such a great decision and I'm sure your pics will be faaaaabulous!! I'd love to design more jewelry for you so keep me posted on everything! I actually really like that dress and with some simple alterations, I'm sure it would completely work. With it being $150, if you find something else you love...you have plenty of time to pick it up and even sell this one (if that's what you choose). Either way, that was a great find!

Congrats on the TTD booking!! :) cheer2.gif

I wore this great dress I found at Nordstrom's!  The last pic is after we were under the water and I was glad it wasn't see-through.  It cleaned beautifully and I plan to list it for sale on here soon.

  • 2 weeks later...

Julie,

I see what you mean about the shape. Not that it doesn't give you shape, but it's way different than your ceremony dress which is gorgeous by the way. Both are beautiful though. I like the flowy-ness of your TTD dress, and I bet your photographer could do great things with it. It also has a great train.

The straps on it are gorgeous, but I'm all about strapless. If it stayed up on it's own, I'd totally lose the straps and make it a sweetheart neckline. That might do more for shape. Then you could wear a great necklace with it. I think it will look great.  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
