Cancun Palace Wedding from May 22 2011

Recommended Posts

We had our wedding at the Cancun Palace back in May and am just getting around to posting per a pm request. We had 12 guest join us on our trip. We flew into Cancun on Thursday the 19th and after checking in but prior to going to the room we went and had a meeting with the wedding coordinator Cindy. Communication prior to the face to face meeting was rather poor with very slow response time or no response at all. During the face to face meeting I did see that Cindy had printed out all the emails that I sent her and was keeping track of the things I asked about and had concerns with, so the upside is that she was working and taking care of things and the downside was I had no idea it was being worked on. The sit down meeting lasted 15-20 min and we worked through all of the details of the wedding, decorations, flowers, cake etc. They had a binder with tons of pictures to make your selection from and said anything could be changed from their suggestions. I would say that this all went smoothly and was very easy. We gave her place cards, place card holders, seating chart, maracas and everything else. At that point all we had left to do was be on time on Sunday and get to the vacation portion of our trip.

One of our carry on bags was packed with stuff for the wedding and gift bags for our guest. In our bags we included cups with a lid and straw so that the guest could pack their bags in the morning for the beach/pool and carry their cups with them to use instead of the little cups you get at the bar. It worked well for our guest and made other guest jealous.

We choose the Sapphire Package 1925.00 (1500.00 resort credit applied) 425.00 net

the package came with 36 pictures of their choice so we added the CD with all the negatives 300.00 and also added one extra hour of photography 150.00 after the ceremony to get more family pictures on the beach, in front of the hotel and at dinner. Our wedding was at 6 pm and the beach photos were really nice but if you want sunset pictures you will have to move to the front of the hotel because from the beach the sun gets blocked by the hotel as it is setting.

here are some pics from the wedding

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
