The new Paradisus Playa del Carmen (La Perla and La Esmeralda)

Recommended Posts

Hey, Congrats to everyone. We booked our wedding on Nov 2, 2013. We're so excited. I wasn't sure when to book our site visit but after reading some of the posts I think March or April are good months. We originally invited 120 guest but after the save the dates were sent out people started backing out so not sure how many people we will have. We chose to get married on the Gabi bridge and the reception at the Gabi club. I also chose Hadar for the night before. I'm not sure if that's a good idea but they told me I can change it. We chose the Tailor-made package it had the most included. I assumed the same thing about the aqua package. All the extras are going to cost a lot. I tried to negotiate the vendor fee but had no luck. They told me I can use Blue Lens for the photographer, but I'm not so crazy about them so I saw a few others that I liked. Check out Del Sol and Elizabeth Medina they both looked very nice. I feel very overwhelmed I'm not sure what my next step is. Maybe someone can help me and steer me in the right direction. Thanks Jess

We just wanted to give a quick shout out and let you all know that this hotel's wedding planning team & decor vendor are FANTASTIC! We thoroughly enjoy working with them and have planned many spectacular weddings at this hotel! We are currently working on an elaborate affair for 150 guests, and this hotel can certainly handle it!

Happy Planning!

I am using Juan from Del Sol and he is great!  I did my engagement shoot with him and I really enjoyed it!  I was feeling the same way...just focus on design ideas you like and gather lots of pictures. That way, when you have your planning calls, you will be prepared.  I am just focusing now on our rings, registering, invitations and bridesmaid dresses because they are the only things I can do now :)

Thanks you too!  If you look earlier on this thread, I believe I posted a link to photos I took of the resort.  Check it out...maybe it will help you visualize! =) Of course I didn't take pics of the Gabi Club dining area...I was too busy looking ha!  I do have to say though, being there really helped me to understand the flow and I think everything will come together after your visit!

I feel the same way about Blue Lens. We went with Erick Rodqriguez of www.claudiaphoto.com. Looks like the vendor fee is sticking for us too :(. That $1000 could go so far!

What is everyone doing for ceromoney music? I think I'm just going to use our DJ for ceromoney music since we are flying him out -I initially was getting a saxophonist but we are way over budget so now just cutting back on a few things lol!! I'm just worried about the timing of music since we don't know how long it will take the bridal party to walk across the gabi bridge - we are only going to be practicing the day before the wedding -

Hi

I just got back from Mexico a few weeks ago and stayed at the Paradisus La Perla. We originally planned to have our wedding there but the communication or lack of and not being able to work out the details with the wedding planner I switched venues last minute to a private Beach club not too far from the hotel. Do you have any kids attending the wedding? I requested to have the reception at the gazebo in the evening but they would not allow it since I had children attending. We had only less than 5 kids but they said they would not make any exceptions and said our only options were the Hadar ball room or poolside which is located on the family side. The gazebo is located on the adult side of the resort. The hotel was beautiful but very quiet there was not much happening there in the evening and it seemed most people were in bed by 10 PM. If you have not heard back from your wedding planner I would email them again I went days to a week not hearing from them I had to email them again to reply to me. Just something to consider when you are looking to book there. I looked for over a year at resorts Paradisus is beautiful. I loved staying at the resort don't get me wrong it was just the lack of assistance from the hotel/wedding planners I went elsewhere plus the additional fees like $1000 to bring in your own photographer made me rethink my decision.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
