The new Paradisus Playa del Carmen (La Perla and La Esmeralda)

Recommended Posts

Hi!  We had our wedding at Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Perla this past weekend and had such an epic, wonderful experience that we still can't believe everything turned out so perfectly for our big day!  We chose this resort initially because a coworker got married there and had rave reviews about the resort, food and wedding experience and I'm so glad we went off of her recommendation.   The resort itself is breathtakingly beautiful, clean, and quiet compared to spring-break style Cancun resorts, which we really liked.  The food is amazinggg and the choices of restaurants make it easy to have a great meal every day of your stay. We worked with Araceli in the Romance department who coordinated everything for our wedding.  Araceli emailed and called me early on to get an idea of what I wanted for our wedding and made the experience efficient and smooth.  Ana Paola did the decor and was very responsive and communicative in helping us choose the flowers and decor we wanted, and the final result was exactly what I pictured (which I worried about since I was planning from the States!)  Araceli was simply wonderful and so friendly- and on the day of the wedding, she and Jaime were highly organized and made sure that everything went smoothly and according to schedule.  Our guests were so impressed by the resort itself - the luxury experience and the excellent food made their stay as enjoyable as possible.  We had our ceremony on the Gabi bridge and the reception in one of the Palapas next to the pool area, and we couldn't have been happier with our choices.  The ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful, and the breezy weather made it pleasant (humidity wasn't too bad for May, but we got lucky because the day before was super hot and humid.)   We chose Discomovil as our outside vendor for DJ services and they pulled everything off with professionalism and friendliness and even helped my husband pull off a surprise guitar/violin performance!

All in all I would highly highly recommend choosing this resort if you want the full, perfect, magical experience for your destination wedding.  Our guests had a BLAST and the intimate setting of the resort helped them all get acquainted quickly.  They all raved that this was one of the best if not best weddings they've been to and they're still having wedding withdrawal from all the fun they had. There is nothing we would have done differently and will cherish the memories from our wedding forever.  Thank you so much to Araceli and Jaime in the Romance department, Vanessa in the YHI spa (for hair/makeup), Ana Paola for decor, Discomovil for DJ services and EVERYONE at the resort staff who was super friendly, kind, generous and provided excellent food, entertainment and service.  We will definitely be back at the Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Perla for our anniversary trips!!! :)

I am getting married on the beach at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen La Esmeralda in June 2015.  I am wondering if anyone was married on the beach and what there experience was there.  Was the beach windy?  Was the beach nice?

Hi! I am looking at this hotel as an option for my wedding as well. Did you already have your wedding? Do you think you could share any info? Thank you!

Hi brides!

This is a gorgeous location where we were in-house vendors for a quite some time. Happy to share images below for your reference & inspiration! You can also see more here:

@@heben42, when are you getting married? I'm also guessing @@lab209 might have had her wedding already, but just in case anyone else is wondering, this is not a particularly windy location around June (actually, here in Playa, June is a very nice and warm month). Our beaches are not particularly windy (nothing like say, Aruba) and the Paradisus has ceremony locations such as the Gaby bridge or the Gazebo that are very secluded, so if you are coming anywhere near the rainy season (mid September/October) you can ask your WP about those options.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
