The new Paradisus Playa del Carmen (La Perla and La Esmeralda)

Recommended Posts

@@zillakas good to know about Dreams. Do you know if guests have access to both La Perla and La Esmeralda? Can some guests with kids stay at La Esmeralda and then the rest stay at La Perla? Are there certain reception areas that require your guests to stay at a certain hotel?

I do not have the spreadsheet handy any more of comparing the packages, but the Welcome BBQ in the Tailor Made package is a big cost difference in the 2.  I also wanted to throw in the extra spa massages and discounts for my wedding party which added up as well.

Guests (Adults) have access to both La Perla and La Esmeralda at all times.  If kids (under 18) are involved then they can only be on the La Esmeralda side.  Both resorts share all of the same food options which are all in between the 2 resorts. The reception areas do not limit your guests to a certain hotel.

Supposedly in the past, kids were not allowed at all on the La Perla side even for the ceremony or reception.  When I visited in March, she mentioned a couple of kids(limited) are now allowed to those things, but will be escorted to and from each event. I didn't ask how many as my group is not travelling with kids.

@@asabatino yes we got a comfirmation :) April 26 2015 we will have our ceremony on gabi bridge at 6 pm and haven't decided about reception yet until we see the rooms in person. We are trying to go there in September for the love at first site visit.

As for the access, I was given the same information as posted above - adults can access both sides regardless of which side they stay on, and kids can only be on la esmeralda side (other than when they are at a private function).

@@aferr15 I was also considering Dreams and made a decision not to look at it based on reviews (Trip Advisor) however I do think it is best to see it in person.  My finance and I saw a handful of resorts including Paradisus.  The Paradisus is beautiful and is a very classy/elegant resort.  If I had to say 1 negative thing about it, it would be that the pool area is not overlooking the beach.  The service is great, the food is excellent, the hotel decor is amazing.  Good luck with your visit.  Let us know how it goes when you get back.

Is anyone considering using Blue Lens Caribe?  Their work looks pretty good but I don't see any reviews out there.

Heyyy everyone!  We are getting married May 15, 2015...and couldn't be more excited!  Any past brides have any reviews good/bad regarding the resort's preferred DJ?   I'm not 100% decided yet, but pretty sure we are flying down our own photographer....it's just an aspect of the wedding I don't want to have to worry about.

I have not visited the Paradisus yet, we plan to go in October, but I see a lot of talking on here about Dreams Riviera Cancun.  I actually went there on a girls trip last year!  The resort is modern, I found the rooms to be nice (not as nice as Dreams Puerto Aventuras)....but I was sort of turned off by the ceremony site.  It was right next to the pool and beach entrance, therefore, no privacy and no seclusion.

Has anyone on here changed their package after booking?  I'm starting to worry that as costs add up I might actually save money by booking Tailor Made.

hey everyone! we booked our love at first site visit, we'll be going september 13-17. we want to meet with vendors when we go. we're interested in booking blue lens for photography... can anyone share their experience with them?

we also saw some bad reviews for JSAV so i'm scared to use their dj. our good friend is a dj so we are thinking to have him be the dj but we would need to rent all the equipment from JSAV.

did any upcoming brides choose their reception location yet?

@@KimmyA I'm thinking about flying in my own dj from NY. I'm currently looking into prices for equipment rental.

@akimmy when I signed the initial contract they told me I didn't have to make a decision on a package yet since it was based on the number of people. I would think you could change it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
