My onsite coordinator was Ana.  She brought me through the tasting.  But I did also meet Myrna and I thought they were both very helpful.  I think it's hard for them to be "hands on" via email because they have so many weddings to work on at the resort, and think of how many weddings are scheduled that people probably contact them.  I would just send them emails confirming everything you talked about.  Don't worry about the small number.  It will be more intimate.  =)

Paradisus keeps randomly charging my fiance's credit card without telling him.  These people are ridiculous. If I could turn back time I would have picked a different resort. Just being honest.

Can you tell I'm frustrated.

 

I think they have schedules that they charge.  At least in my contract it has dates when they automatically charge your card on file.

I need to book a massage stat.  My wedding is a month away and I feel like they don't have any notes on what we spoke about because I just got a questionaire from Jessica from Miami office asking the same darn things: color of flowers, decor, where is your reception location, date, time ceremony location.

Yea, I think they make you fill out that planning form regardless of what you've talked about so that they have everything in one place. Take a deep breath, and definitely schedule that massage =)

Ok ladies, Little update! I have received my final extras invoice from Jessica in Miami and she has introduced me via email to the onsite wedding coordinators. I already had personally sought out their contact information and am feeling a little bit better about things!! I too received another sheet to fill out with all wedding details - AGAIN but I was told it is to charge the extras as that goes through a different department? I haven't had anything be charged to my card that I did not authorize - so hopefully that doesn't change!! Imnotarunner - don't worry about having a small number of people! We originally thought there were be more guests for ours but we are having 33 guests. I am at least thankful that they will let us have a private dinner reception in Hadar - I was at a destination wedding in the Dominican at the Magestic Colonial and they had FIVE weddings in the same day and then there were 2 wedding parties at the one restaurant PLUS regular hotel guests. I promise to give a very long and detailed review of everything about our wedding - and hopefully pictures too!!!! I can't believe we are leaving so soon! Lets just cross our fingers and hope everything turns out! At the end of the day we're there with closest family and friends to celebrate the love we have for our hubby's!!!

I had my planning call w/Jessica yesterday, she's very sweet and it was a little comforting but I'm still nervous because my walk through notes were no where to be found.  She's going through her old emails now.

Do you know who your onsite coordinator is?  She said we won't know ours till closer to the date/after final invoice. We are only 30 days out, it feels like nothing is prepared sigh...We too are having it at Hadar. 

I am so excited for you , marriage is a great thing so if this wedding thing doesn't pan out I still know I am a lucky girl marrying a very lucky boy lol ..as are you!

What are you doing for an after party?  I was told 11pm is cut off, so I'm hoping there's something for my guests to do afterwards.  I didn't recall seeing a club on site. Only lounge and bars.

any word on how the mosquitos are down there?
I am ttempted to bring OFF rings and citronella candles for the ceremony so my guests won't be eaten alive by the mangroves at the gabi bridge. what do you think? over the board?

Hi Ladies !

We are leaving to the resort on june 23rd we get married on the 28th ! getting pretty excited and have serious anxiety too lol ! I have yet to talk to anyone in playa yet , don't even know who my planner is .. I did finalize everything with Jessica ( she was great ) and hopefully I will have someone reach out soon .   I have no idea how im going to get a few things over there ? has thought about shipping stuff over ther ? if so how you doing it Fedex ?

I looked into it - re: sparklers ..... Actually my fiancée laughed at me hahaha they are most definitely NOT allowed on the plane - carry on or checked - they are put in the same kind of class as explosive material I think - something about them rubbing together they could spark/ignite - hahahahaha I guess I can understand the concern!!!! I'm going to be asking out photographer if he would be able to buy some and bring them since he is from Playa and the resort charges something ridiculous I bet!
