The Gabi club is actually not as small as it looks - you an easily fit 8 round tables (4 on each side) and dance floor in the middle. I am not fond of a dance floor on the sand either since it was just strange that guests had to walk out of dining room to get to dance floor. Being very honest, I dont think it will look right if you put tables on each side of the dining room either. I feel as though its too far from sweetheart table and takes away from the intimacy. Also thinking about how photos will if you set up seating that way.

I hear you.  The issue is that we are having 120 guests, and I don't know how else to figure this out.  I figure most people will be dancing the whole time and only sitting to eat.  Just can't figure out a way around this!  Driving me nuts :)

Hi ladies,

I was wondering, for those who have done the site visit, where you able to do a cake tasting?

I was not able to do a cake tasting.  I did taste all of the options for a plated dinner, though.

Hi KK,

thanks for the feed back, did they give you an option on the food that they allowed you to taste? why weren't you able to do a cake tasting?

thanks

Ladies

I'm extremely worried, I just learned that Paradisus does not leet guest staying on La Esmeralda travel to La Perla and vice versa, has anyone encountered this. I was under the impression that people would be able to travel between both

thanks

No prob!  Yes, they allowed us to try two choices for each course which we chose in advance. Honestly, when I was there I was so early in the planning process (it was last November) that it didn't even occur to me, and I was very unprepared.  They described which cakes I could choose from, and I showed them pictures I had that I liked (that they said they could recreate), but I never thought to ask about tasting.  In the dinner we are serving, they include a dessert, so rather than serving the cake, we are just going to have it boxed and send it back with people to their rooms for a late night snack.

They told me if you were an adult, you could utilize both sides.  Just the kids can't go on the Esmeralda side :)

Hi ladies I have a question regarding the DJ. I was contacted by JSAV and there pricing for 3 hrs starts at $1350 and do not include Labor, Transportation, 15% Service and 11% Tax Fees & his pricing states "Packages for Playa del Carmen have additional costs"

However The customized wedding extras form which I received from the Romance Department when I 1st booked my wedding states : Standard Package starts at $1000 and includes 3 hours of DJ, DJ equipment, 2 speakers, wireless microphone & 8 LED lights. I don't understand the discrepancy in pricing? Can there be another DJ company for Paradisus? This is a big difference in pricing and I don't understand why the company that the Romance Dept recommends states that they charge extra for Play Del Carmen weddings? Also does anyone have the email address or contact info for the Spa at the resort, I wanted to get pricing and see if they would offer a discount if I bought several spa treatments (I wanted to give spa treatments as a gift to our parents and siblings). And Im not sure when I would need to book my hair and makeup appointments for the wedding day and trail run. Thanks, any info you guys have will greatly help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
