The new Paradisus Playa del Carmen (La Perla and La Esmeralda)

KK2013 is correct - but brides be very careful with shipping items to destination! Hotels are not held liable for the items and might not store them properly. There would be nothing worse then you arriving to find your items ruined, or something lost. Spread it out between your bridal party - that's what they are their for!

Happy Planning!!

I was intending on having an acoustic guitarist play for the ceremony.  Haven't even gotten that far yet, though!  Utilizing the DJ seems like a good idea!  I was going to have live music for my cocktail hour and DJ for reception only, but I decided to have him play for cocktail hour too in order to save some money.
We are having a violinist for the ceremony, then using the DJ for the cocktail hour and reception :)

Hi imnnotarunner! I was wondering if you could give us more information on how your site visit went. I am set to get married on June 21, 2014 at the gabi bridge and am planning to do my site visit this June. How was it when you arrived, did they upgrade you like they say they would? Also were you able to visit the different reception sites and do food tasting. I am also very anxious about the whole decorating company they seem very pricey! Do you have any pictures of the center pieces they quotes on you. Sorry for all the questions but I just feel like Paradisus representatives are so vague when answeing my questions Thanks again for all your info!
Our Love at First Site was amazing! We saw each location, tasted the food, wines, met with Perla... Etc. the planners on site are much better than Miami. Unfortunately, you will have to deal with Miami until about 45 days before your wedding. Again, we are so thankful for our wedding planner Janice... She helps decipher all the wedding stuff that stresses me when dealing directly with the Miami Office :)

Hey ladies just a question about the bridal suite I've seen mentioned a few times - does anyone know if they charge you to use it?? At this point I would not be surprised hahaha but wanted to check with you ladies first before I ask the wedding coordinators! Can't believe the wedding is coming so quickly! 6.18.2013 getting very excited but also starting to worry a little bit more!!

Are you girls putting fans in the guest's chairs for the wedding ceremony? I wanted to take a poll before I decided whether or not to purchase them? I'm wondering if they'll even use them and/or if they're necessary since it's usually windy right by the beach...Anyways, thanks ladies for any advice!

I am doing fans! =)  Didn't really think about the usefulness, just thought it was a cute touch.

Fans would be really cute but not necessarily needed for the weather.  We just had our wedding 2/23 and it was SUPER windy on the Gabi Bridge!  My bangs kept flying about!

I did parasols for pics and it was really nice!

Any other questions, I'd be happy to answer - we had a great experience overall with just a few minor hiccups that were taken care of immediately!

They told me they will accept packages 2 days in advance of the wedding.  I found that to not be a great option since its cutting it so close, and who knows if something got caught up in customs.  I am just making my entire family each bring an additional bag =)

Yes, I just got back from my site visit. I asked the same question. You can ship to the resort.  Ship it to the Romance Office. They said nothing about shipping it only 2 days in advance. They will keep all your packages there for you, so it doesn't get mixed up within the hotel packages.  Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
