For those brides who are doing their ceremony on the Gabi bridge, once you guys kiss and walk back down the aisle...where do you go?

Will you stick around to take pics?

Is there a non-awkward way to exit the ceremony?

In a typical wedding, after bride/groom exit the "church" or ceremony site, the guests throw rice or do some "send off" right? But...you're a bridge, where do we go from there?

I feel like there's no smooth transition.

Do we stop at the end of the bridge near the Gabi Club? What do we do?

HELP!!

I think we will just stand on the sand at the end at the Gabi Club and say hello to everyone as they exit (like a receiving line).  After everyone proceeds through, we will go off to take pictures.  If anything gets thrown, it would need to be as you walk down the aisle together.  We are just doing the maracas and "shake at the kiss'.   Hope this helps :)

Where are you ordering your maracas from? are you personalizing them? Also I am thinking of getting sparklers to be used during reception (looks amazing in pics taken at night), but I was wondering what the resort meant by "rose petal storm"- are they reffering to just roses thrown at bride and groom?

Also is anyone getting a cigar roller for the welcome party or reception?

On the maracas, I am waiting to hear back from the resort.  She said she had a source for the hand painted ones.  Waiting to hear the cost on that.  If it's too much, I may just buy them on 5th Ave.  There were multiple places that had them for $1 each, and I would bet if you are buying a ton they would even negotiate the price.  That is probably the route I will take.  Plus, you don't need to deal with getting them to Mexico which is a plus. Yes,  I think the rose petal storm is just people throwing them.  I was going to get the cigar roller, but a friend of mine who is big on cigars said that you shouldn't smoke the fresh rolled ones right away and they should sit for about 2 weeks--it would be better for people to take them home.  Given that, I think I will just buy a box for people to smoke if they wish, at the Welcome BBQ.

I too was struggling so hard to find the exact colour I wanted - originally I wanted a light lilac/lavender BUT all the designers colours were way too grey undertoned or too bright purple - soooooo I had a bit of freakout and may just order a dark plum/purple instead - I'm hoping it won't look too weird being in a tropical setting - any ideas or helpful hints!!!

I went with the Aqua Package so we could have a plated dinner, but am keeping the Chill Out Chic decor because I wanted the orchids as part of the colour scheme! UGH I'm so frustrated with everything! Not to mention I sent a photo of a very simple centrepiece (a few hydrangea blooms and an orchid stem or 2) and I was quoted $500 a table!!! That is a bit extreme so now I'm trying to do my own centrepieces and bring them with me!!!

Hahaha sorry for the little vent session - but try not to stress too much about the colour - my fiance keeps telling me not to stress the little things we can't control - but I know that it's hard and frustrating when you can't find exactly what you're looking for!

WOWWW...I can't believe they charged that much for centerpieces!  Maybe because of the hydrangeas?  Since they are not native to Mexico, and perhaps out of season depending on your date?

Thank you for your kind words on the color!  Best of luck to you too!  :)

Oof...I just got prices on centerpieces.  Now thinking it's the orchids that are the expensive part.  Might want to stay away from those. Roses and others were a lot cheaper.

It's official We booked the wedding may 10 2013... Yay! Chose to get married on the boardwalk and reception at the gabi club..welcome dinner will be hosted at the poolside ...really wanted the beach for welcome dinner but seemed to narrow to accommodate all guests. I'm actually still here at the resort and it's amazing!!!!! Wedding planner Ana is absolutely wonderful...sheis actually one of the main reasons why I chose the resort..she just makes you feel at ease.. She has done this for years and knows basically everything! She is so sweet! Ps..It's $3 per room to place welcome bages and they do not shut down restaurants for private events...if you need to make reservations for a group of 20 or more you just need to tell them ahead of time ( 2 weeks before wedding ) I am working with perla for design..very nice and experienced. Also decided to work with blue lens..they seemed great and it's just more convenient with them already on premises... At this point we are just trying to negotiate prices....I will post pics when I get back!!!!
Hi Rola!! We are confirmed for May 11, 2013! Congrats

Hey Rola! Long time no see;). Post a pic of your save the dates, I know they're beautiful! As for the aisle runner (I'll be taking your advice about the bridge), we're going to have a monogram one made here and bring it to the hotel. We have 27 people booked so far (including myself and the groom). We're waiting to receive our invitations from the designer, and we're sending them out towards the end of November. Hope all else is well ladies!;) P.S. Is anyone else starting to see their friends/families 'true colors' now that its time to put some money where their mouth is (pay deposits/book, etc.)?
Totally a shock to see how many people cannot make it. Makes me feel a bit guilty about going abroad, but our guest had almost a year... Smh :)

I just sent out my invites, I am hoping a good number show (like 20-30).  My relatives have already started to back out ugh. Oh well their loss. It hurts but whatever. lame excuses(even when I offered to help with hotel costs)
It does hurt a bit... "True Colors" indeed. On a positive note, some family and friends have really steps up with booking and other duties... So excited!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
