Coordinator/Vendor Recommendations?

Recommended Posts

Hey All! New to the forums and recently engaged... still in the initial stages of planning and it's becoming super overwhelming, from choosing a location, venue, etc. I am considering a wedding in Cabo San Lucas and was hoping to get some advice based on your own experiences. The two venues I was considering are the Sunset Mona Lisa and Esperanza Resort. Since the Mona Lisa is a restaurant, I would have to hire my own coordinator or work with the vendors myself. Does anyone have a good coordinator they would recommend? Or, if I end up doing the planning myself, does any one have vendor recommendations for flowers, photog/videographer, etc? Also, does anyone have any experience working with the in house planner at the Esperanza? Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for any advice!!

Much appreciated,

Joyce

Hi Joyce,

I am planning my wedding in Cabo at the Sunset Da Mona Lisa in April of 2012.  I chose the SDML because of how beautiful the venue is and for its views, I'm a total view girl.  I contemplated not hiring a wedding coordinator, but I don't want to be running around like a chicken the day before and the day of the wedding.  I want to enjoy this time.  I choose Tammy Wolff as my wedding coordinator.  She is very sweet and so far right on the ball with every thing.  Her prices seem very reasonable also.  They way I figured it, I don't live in Cabo, so I don't know who the best floraist are, or the best photographers, Tammy does and helps steer me in the right direction by giving me a list of possible vendors to look at, this is a lot easier than researching 50 on my own.

I don't know much about the Esperanza, so I can't help you there!

Good luck!  Choosing the venue is the hardest!

Hello - I don't know if you have already made your decisions about your wedding. As a frequent traveller to Cabo and also a professional wedding planner, I just wanted to say that you might want to consider Cabo Azul. It is truly gorgeous, huge rooms, the chapel is outstanding and unique and I really think it is a very special resort and the price is so reasonable. As for vendors, not sure where you are from, there are some terrific local vendors. (However, personally, I would prefer to bring in your own photographer if possible as you can research someone locally and I do think it's important to meet with and have a good connection with the person who will be shooting your wedding. There are loads of other amazing places in cabo, you can message me and I'll give you more info. I am new to the site, was a destination bride last summer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
