Help! I can't decide between Punta Cana or Curacao

I love this place! I love all of the info I keep getting from reading your posts (sadly my house is not looking so great :)

 

I need help. We are planning our wedding for 6-9-12. We're trying to make a decision between Breezes Curacao and Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. I absolutely love the Dutch influence in Curacao and we stayed a Breezes Negril last Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana looks amazing as well. Does anyone have any thoughts on these two places? We are going to have between 35 and 50 guests and children so we have to keep that in mind as well.

Hi Stephanie, 

We are trying to decide between Curacao (Marriott) and TCI(several hotels). Have you checked the government travel site for safety warnings for Punta Cana? I was considering some Central American locations and nixed them because of those. Granted, you have to be careful wherever you go, but I have some guests who don't travel much and are afraid for their safety. If everyone attending is well-traveled, it's probably not an issue, but if you have some travel virgins, like I do, it might be worth considering. Also, I just checked and the site talks about frequent power outages in the DR, so make sure your hotel has a gennie.

Been on here a while and have yet to hear of Curacao. This thread speaks purely to Punta Cana. I've chosen NOW Larimar which is under the same resort umbrella as Dreams. I'm sure you're even will be amazing if you have it there. When I was choosing, I read a lot on Dreams and followed the thread. My suggestion would be to go where you can be sure that other brides had amazing events with a staff that was attentive.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
