I've heard this about the one time price drop too! We were told we were going to get it by the time the final payment is required but now my travel agent thinks we might not get it. Apparently they do it to intise people to book at the resort and with that package but if the resort is busy at that time, and people have already paid deposits, they don't feel the need to give the price drop. BUT we are going to fight for it, I'm brining over 70 people to the resort, I want the damn price drop lol Our trip is pricy at 1941 too!!!

Someone posted a link to this website in an earlier forum and in case you're wanting a monogram, this website generates them for you and they are super cute:

http://www.weddingchicks.com/freebies/custom-monograms/

just click on the design that you like (unfortunately only about 15 available), and then you can enter your own letters, date, location information, and chose whatever colours you like, and then it downloads a monogram for you. You can then upload that monogram to most customizable products etc, or print it out on paper, invitations etc. I love it!!!

I think im going to print mine out on sticker paper, and then cut them into circles and put them on the cheap dollarama plastic shot glasses for when we're playing drinking games at the resort.

Well when we booked with Marlin we were told abotu the price drop.....i know i am partially to blame as i didnt read the fine print or remember it exactly.... but i contacted my TA multiple times with price drops that were occurring and she told me to wait til closer to the date so i did... they wouldnt honour any other sites price drops but their own.....and when there finally was a price drop it was 55 days to my departure so they didnt honour it! I was PISSED!!! i had tried multiple times to have this price drop applied (even $50 was better than nothing) but due to my TAs urging not to use it yet and to wait (which i think they are told to do) i never got it. so i freaked on her and on sunwing... they tried to give us priority seating (which we already had!!!!!) and i said no way.... i told them nothign would be acceptable except the price drop..... well they refused to give me the full $150 drop but did bend eventually and gave everyone $50 off (as this was one of the price drops that occured before the cut off date....

if i can suggest anything is dont take NO for answer....fight, yell, scream, email angrily....... they will bend to you eventually! lol

it was sunwing policy that we dealt with not marlin for the price drop...each travel company will have the guartanee not the TA

We still haven't even booked anything yet. I think we'll need to get 2 group rates one departing from Toronto and the other from Detroit. I also want to make sure we get the price drop guarantee. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm starting to feel the crunch to book.

I'm january 2013 and we only just finalized the bookings 2 weeks ago.  I got started very early, and I think it was too early... the flight schedules all changed, and I jumped on a price that was VERY good for last year, but turned out to be not as good for this year. The guests are paying what they would if they booked individually. I think we had more pressure to act early though since we have roughly 75 coming from Edmonton alone, and most tour companies don't sell that many seats. So we booked the initial 60 right away, but then had 15 people out of edmonton to deal with. MAN DOES IT FEEL GOOD TO BE DONE!!!

I would definitely look into getting 2 group quotes!

My best advice: don't bother with WestJet Groups. They are completely inflexible and slow and unresponsive. They are fine for individual bookings and great for flights, but the WestJet Vacations Groups is its own company... very poor!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
