Wedding dress is in!!! Picking it up tomorrow!!! wooohoooo

Yay! So exciting. Though it reminds me that I haven't even bought a dress yet, or found one for that matter. I have been putting it off, but I better get on it soon. I found one I like at davidson bridal and they don't need so long to order it so I figure I have time. But I want to lose weight....it's so hard to have to order so far in advance!

Hello Ladies,

I'm just wondering what everyone put in their invitations for inserts? So for weddings here these usually include things like RSVP, Ceremony Directions, Reception Directions etc.

My invitations are pocketfolds so I want to include something besides the RSVP, but my guests already got Accommodation information in the STD. What other inserts could I include? I was thinking Reception Details?!

They are in a "camping chair" bag.  You know those colapsable chairs that go in canvas bags.  I have them put in one of those and I think it will fit diagonally in our largest suitcase.  We will put our clothes in with them and other "light" stuff.  They are not heavy at all. I got these at our beloved Dollarama for $1.25 a piece so not something I am set on bringing back, though mom wants them lol

Thanks for the info about the tumblers. I think I am going to return them. I found some nice insulated cups in red and teal/turquoise at Canadian Tire for 5$. I think I am just going to get one for our wedding party...

Found nice turquoise sand at Pier One , it even has sparkles in it...going to use it in my centrepieces. They also have pearilized shells but were pricey...18$ for 20. The ones I painted with metallic paint were just as nice.

Sea glass!!!! They have turquoise blue, green, white glass in bags for 9$. I bought one bag and plan on using it to decorate the table. I checked online and pricey to get shipped.

hahaha ya it does seem like a lot but I thought I was actually doing WELL! Most brides are bring sahes, table linens etc. I definitely am NOT

- OOT stuff (will take up a huge chunk of space but so worth it)

- Sheppard hooks and pomanders

- vases and reed grasses

- 1 bag of shells

- brush the sand from your feet brushes with matt and bucket

- MR and MRS sign

- Shoes Optional Sign

- Place Cards

I think that is it for "from home" decor.  Probably a few tea light candles or something but not much else.  Still undecided whether the stinky starfish are staying or if they are being returned.

I am thinking we will need 1 bag for our mugs and the actual bags, 1 bag for the OOT filler (survival kits, face cloths and printed materials as well as the pomanders and reed grasses.  and then 2 bags each for clothes.  I am banking on the ACV executive class upgrade so we get 6 bags between the 2 of us.  Fingers crossed!

We had a boarding pass invite, front page invite, 2nd page about the Destination and Hotel, 3rd page travel information (travel agent, booking dates etc), 4th page RSVP info including book by date, and RSVP date (different as we are open to people booking their own travel not through our TA)  we also included a blurb about understanding that not everyone can commit to coming downsouth, 5th page the physical RSVP card

Hope this helps!!!

Oh, and Camy I didn't want to include reception details in case anything changes as we sent our invites out in May for a Feb wedding (no STDs), times etc may change so that was my reason.  Another option may be things to do in your destination, packing tips/list.  Are you doing a pre-travel email/brochure, if not things you would include in that can be included in your invite!

I totally agree with you!!!  i delayed as much as i could on getting my dress... until i got panicked about the time ( even though i still had 7 months) hahaha but like you i am losing weight.. and so it was hard... BUT.. all i did was found a dress that i loved.. and that i made sure, was easy to alter to whtever size i went down to.. without affecting the style of the dress.. the other thing is, if you get a dress with a tie up back ( my dress didn't have one so i am altering it and getting the tie up back put in) that also allows it to go a bit tighter and be flexible size wise.

And just because i am soo happy... and i love you ladies and all of the support and ideas we bounce off of eachother... i am happy to say.. since January 25th.. i have been losing weight .. and i have officially lost ( as of today) 50.6 pounds!!! *fist pump*  i still have another 40-45 pounds to go... but i am one step further to being a trophy bride/ wife!! heheheheh woot.gif

So haftiehm you can always go dress hunting and find one that can be altered.. that way if you do lose weight it will be easy to get it to whatever size you are at that time.. but take the stress off.. pertaining to getting it :)

WOOOHOOO thats so amazing. congrats and good for you!!! How did you do it if you dont mind me asking? I regret not putting a stronger focus on this sooner so now that i have less then 3 months to go and 1.5 to my dress fitting i am working my butt off LITERALLY hahaha I am doing zumba, P90X and a lot of gardening and painting in my new house hahah i am barely ever sitting exvept before i go to bed at night so i can get my BDW and wedding planning in :) I also this week started a healthy living life style. In the last 2 weeks i have lost a couple of pounds but wish it would go a bit faster. I'm impatient LOL but also i know that muscle weighs more then fat so i need to measure myself. I have 10 pounds to lose and i would be happy and 15 pounds i'd be thrilled :) :)

Thanks Tori!!  THAT is why i love you ladies!!!  the support and feedback on this site has been phenominal on here!!!!! when i found out i hit 50.6 today i couldn't wait to share it with someone and it is pretty sad i know.. but i wanted to come on here and say something on here!! only because 90% of woman want or hope to lose a few pounds before they get into the dress etc...  so if we can motivate eachother.. then even better!

heehehe I am pretty excited... I am feeling soooo much better!!!!!  I am down 50.6 pounds.. and have lost a total of 29 Inches on just my chest, stomach and hips!  and so at this point... whatever i lose between now and february will be a bonus... but i am hoping for another 40-45.. but if i only lost 5 i would still be happy hahaha..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
