I got my girl's gifts early (good sales, can't say no!)

Got them nice silk robes - might embroider their names on them (maybe!) and nice pashminas for the evening.

Knowing me I'll get more between now and then - thinking jewellery and pretty flip flops

I bought my girls:

-beach bags (got them on sale from Old Navy in the spring)

-MOH/ Bridesmaid hangers (although thats more a present for me so we can have nice pictures!)

- Coral Havaiana Flipflops

- lipsyl with SPF

-MOH/Bridesmaid Tanks (again I feel like is more for me for photos)'

I don't know what else to get or if I should... I have been thinking about robes  or maybe some jewelery, but I am not 100% sure yet.

I got the robes at La Vie En Rose for $11!!! They're back to $20.00 but I'm sure if you wait they'll go on sale again.

Where'd you get your bridesmaids tanks?

Ohhh thats a good deal! I would totally get robes for 11$! What do they look like? And what material are they?

I actually "made" my tanks lol. I bought coral tanks for the girls and a white one for me and purchased on ebay iron-on sparkly decals and ironed them on myself. The tanks were like 5$ at Giant Tiger and the decals differed in price based on their length but were anywhere from like 2-5$. So the tanks cost less then 10$ each which is pretty good considering to buy them at Michaels or online they are about 20$ and up!

Some parts have been really fun (ie. bridesmaids gifts and OOT bags) but other parts have been very stressful. I'm not a big wedding person so I find a lot of the costs really annoying and overwhelming. Choosing a date was definitely the biggest source of anxiety but it's been smooth sailing for about a month now. :)

Yes I agree, choosing a date was the most stressful part for me too (mostly because my mother in law had A LOT to say about when we get married, we had to work around her schedule) and I cried pretty much everyday for a month over one thing or another she said or emailed. But since then it's been smooth sailing and great! I've had a lot of fun with the details, my dress, bridesmaids, gift bags. Right now I'm in the process of getting my passport renewed, and making sure everyone else has valid passports too. Wouldn't that be great now, if someone's passport expired!! OYYYY

So far the only big stressful thing for us/me has been picking a destination with a great price for our guest. I personally wanted Vegas with skinny Elvis but no one was going for that:( I'm not a wedding person either, I did vent planning for high end hotels and kitchens for 10 years but just recently changed careers to better suit having relationships and one day having children.

I found that the hardest also.  Eventually I found a place that my fiance and I fell in love with that wasn't too bad on the cost for our guests...  I started checking prices over a year out.  I found that the prices didn't change drastically over the course of a year.

We still haven't found a resort yet but this Saturday we are going to finally pick one. We started looking into resorts and prices and destinations in the summer.  We are also over a year out from a wedding and you are right prices haven't changed too much.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
